RE: Clean Dump Macerator

I do have a Sewer Solution but am looking for a system that does not require much water to dump. Where we spend our winter in Mexico the tank gets dumped via the 'honey bucket' and water is at a premium. Thanks for your input.

RE: Help! Automatic Awning won't retract

DH did manage to get the awning fixed. It ended up being wear on the cap that goes over the tube that ties into the motor. They managaed to jury rig it (Mexican rig it?) and it is now operational. Hurrah! Thanks for your responses. FYI - I had emailed Carefree and had an answer back within 45 minutes with a description on how to manually retract the awning and a parts list. Unfortunately that part is not listed separately. We were impressed with the quick customer service.

RE: Help! Automatic Awning won't retract

It is the main large awning. Yes, I did go on Carefree's site and the awnings they show all have names. Our doesn't seem to. The one I could find closest to what ours looks like (Eclipse) has a service manual pdf but does not say anything about manual retract. I have emailed them directly to see if they can offer any suggestions. From what we can see in the service manual there is a spring inside and it is possible that is what is wrong. If we are able to retract it and secure it we can deal with it NOB.

Help! Automatic Awning won't retract

We have a Carefree Auto Retract awning (can't find the model # - the only thing the manual says is 12V Direct Response System) When we put it out this morning it went out slowly as usual, until it was about 1/2 way open and then picked up speed and slammed open in a hurry, making weird noises. Now it will not retract. The motor will run and the shaft turns but it is not winding back in. There must a shaft inside the tube or something that broke. We need to be able to put the awning in as it gets very windy here! We are currently in Mexico and will be here a couple of months so I am unable to contact the company or a service person for information. Does anyone have any suggestions? There is nothing in the manual about how to manually retract it.

RE: Route from Caborca to Puerto Penasco (El Golfo)

No, sorry, didn't mean to imply that the 2 places were nearby one another. They are actually heading for El Golfo and have been there before but do have to go via PP because they are coming from Kino Bay. Instead of going from Caborca to PP via Sonoyta they thought of going Hwy 37 if it was a good route. I was hoping someone had gone that route this season and would know the latest road conditions. Thanks for your responses.

Route from Caborca to Puerto Penasco (El Golfo)

I am posting for info for a friend. They are currently in Kino Bay and are heading to El Golfo. They are wondering about the route from Caborca to PP. We know the road from Caborca to Sonoyta then over to PP is good, but what about Hwy 37 from Caborca to PP. Has anyone taken this route recently? It does look shorter on the map but may not be worth trying if the road is not good. Thanks

RE: Recommended Dentist in Nogales Mexico

Sorry, after I had posted, I realized you were looking for someone in Nogales, not Algodones.

RE: New Highway? - San Luis/Puerto Penasco/Caborca

We have taken the road from Lukeville and it is good... well there was still a little bit of construction on it last Spring but should be done now. We are in Yuma, and were told that there is a new highway from San Luis to PP, but are concerned about the 'old' road from PP to Caborca.

New Highway? - San Luis/Puerto Penasco/Caborca

We were told of a new toll highway from San Luis to Puerto Penasco. A group of us are leaving tomorrow (11/14) and were going via San Luis. We are heading to Kino Bay. Has anyone taken the new highway? What are the conditions of the old highway from PP to Caborca. The current plan is to take the 2 from San Luis to Caborca then to Santa Ana and beyond. The 'flyer' about the highway says it cuts out 78 kms and an hour of travel. Would appreciate your response today as we head out early in the morning. Thanks!

RE: Importing used RV into Canada from the U.S.

Check Mike Rosman in Vernon. Mike Rosman RV We were treated well by them and it was worth the drive from Calgary to Vernon (about a 7 hr drive) to purchase rather than deal with the dealership in Calgary that handles Northwood. We imported our motorhome and as others said it was pretty easy, and a trailer less involved yet.
