RE: 3/4 ton truck and mobile suites?

This is a 2008 38 RLSB3. I'm getting a good deal on the unit, paying only 1/3 of the original MSRP. A used, soon to be 3 year old rig is, IMO, not a good deal at 1/3 off original MSRP. With your comment of "maybe I could drive extra carefull" makes me begin to think you are fishing.

RE: Sam's Club 6 volt deep cycle

Stopped by the E-Z-Go dealer a few days ago. He had Trojan's for $98.00 each if you bought a set of 4. A set of 6 was slightly lower. Might try a golf cart dealer.

RE: Lamar Dixon Expo Center

We are going to visit my daughter in Gonzales and don't know if there is a closer RV campground around. If your daughter is in Gonzales, Lamar-Dixon is your best bet. Planning on eating crawfish while there? Mike Anderson in the Holiday Inn on Hwy. 30 just east of Tanger Mall has some really great seafood and fish dishes.

RE: window tint film

I not only tinted all my windows but bought some Reflex. When it is really hot, we put a trimmed piece in the back window. It is stiff enough to lay in the channel and the end of the vertical blinds help hold it in place.

RE: rubber roof ?

There is a 10 year warranty on manufacturing defects of the material only. Cuts, tears and holes would not fall under the warranty and labor is not included.

RE: Lamar Dixon Expo Center

Big parking lot is correct. Last I heard it was $25./night but could be higher now. Full hookups w/o cable or wi-fi. You can get quite a few local stations and possibly a few from N.O. with a digital box. Owned/run by the city of Gonzales.

RE: Mattress Pad OVER memory foam topper?

Where is this reflective barrier and it's name, please? Reflex. Available at Home Depot or Lowe's. Local hardware stores may have it.

RE: TST Antenna

I have my TST Monitor on the dash board and do not need the big antenna, our 5er is 32'. I can even park my truck 25 ' away from the 5er and still pick up the transducers. It will also give you the same tire reading 20 miles down the road. When I had a TST system, it would never loose readings when traveling with it on and away from the trailer. Did not seem to be a problem when reconnected.

RE: campground near Baton Rouge, LA

Poche Plantation is too far. I would stay at the B.R. KOA before Poche's. Poches route to Port Allen is on the winding 2 lane River Road on the east bank. Across the Sunshine Bridge and again a mostly 2 lane road, many small towns and stop lights before you get to Port Allen.

RE: at&t air card

I would definately not consider Altell. Alltel is no more. They have been bought out/merged with Verizon.

RE: Abbeville, LA to Tallahassee

Dave gave you, as usual, his good information. It's CRAWFISH season. Gotta try them. Lot's of people have crawfish in their rice fields now but the cold weather has slowed down the quantity and size. Just north of Abbeville is Maurice. It is there that they invented the Turducken. Place is on the left headed to Lafayette but I can't remember the name. Maurice is also a speed trap.

RE: Help with 15 tires and wheels?

What size 15 inch tires do you have?? You can get a Michelin 245 r16 which is 30.5 inches tall. He can't find rims to fit his existing hubs. Althiugh I haven't looked, one of the frequent posters says he has had success with U.S> made Cooper's in 15".

RE: Diesel prices

I have to ask you, have you ever worked or owned a service station? The average GROSS profit that the retailer gets is 4-5 cents per gallon. Out of that he must pay rent, taxes, employees and if he is really lucky and pumps 100K gallons a month he MIGHT make a fair return on his initial investment. Which can start at 20K. Another major reason that you choose to ignore is that all oil products are a commodity and traded on the open market world wide. There is not enough refining capacity to supply our demand so most diesel is imported. Can't argue with part of your reasoning but I don't believe that MOST of our diesel is imported unless you have some figures to prove me otherwise. There are several major expansions going on at local refineries that will soon be completed. They are currently deciding whether to bring that extra capacity on line because of over capacity in the refining sector. Baton Rouge is home to the 2nd largest refinery in the country. We also have Motiva (formerly Texaco). Another Exxon above New Orleans, Valero, Marathon, Murphy and several others. They are runninng below capacity because of demand. I will add that the refineries are being squeezed on profit margin but overall the the oil companies are healthy but not as healthy are they were when oil prices were higher. They can't seem to get over the feast or famine rut. Somebody is making money, there is a gas station/convience store on every corner. Many owned by our friends from other countries.:W

RE: Update, update, update! Need help.

I am not saying that you have enough truck but take a look at the tires. I suspect that they are rated at 3040 #'s each. 3040 X 2 = 6080.

RE: Muffler repair Ponchartrain n shore

My post was not intended to bash Camping World. There is a connection between Dixie RV and Camping World that I do not understand. That connection when I, and others that I know, have dealt with them has created some bad feelings. Dixie RV is not a member of any BBB and has a number on unresolved complaints. I shop at CW every time I go to the state parks east of me.
