RE: Maidem Voyage

Congrats on your trip, here in Arizona the posted Freeway Speed is 75MPH, owners manual says not to tow over 65MPH, so I run between 60 and 64 MPH. Don't like it then go around. Like Sez Hoo what's the rush.

We came from Jacksonville, FL to Gilbert, AZ in November and did not find it that bad. Seemed fine to us.

RE: fleetwood vs. monaco

They both would be about equal in build quality and materials. The Rev is built on the American Coach line and is not in the same league as other Fleetwood products under it. The Scepter is in the top 1/2 of the HR line up and is very good in both build quality and materials. You should be happy with either one.
Agree with the Texan, go for the floorplan your DW likes best.
Good Luck

RE: Ain't now way to treat a Texas Motorhome...LOL!!

Lots of snow in the Flagstaff area, but here in Central and Southern Arizona it has been quite nice, hopefully yours won't last as long as the East Coast Storms.
Stay Warm.

RE: Cummins vs. Cat

I would not let the engine be the deal breaker, to me (more so for the DW) floor plan is the most important. When we searched for ours she wanted the bath and half, I wanted three slides and a pusher. Engine type was not an issue, because both are good engines.
Good Luck with your search.

MH Crash in Phoenix

Just happen the morning,
At least three lanes of westbound Interstate 10 were closed Thursday morning after a motor home rolled over in the HOV lane near 32nd Street.
The rollover closed I-10 for a short time earlier in the morning to allow rescue crews to get victims out of the motor home, according to the Department of Public Safety. A sedan was also rolled over in the emergency lane. Traffic was very heavy all the way to U.S. 60.
The injuries were non-life threatening. The cause of the crash is unknown.
MH and Car flipped caused by tractor trailer driver, still trying to get the freeway opened.

RE: Air mattress replacement Class A

Not for sure, but you might try replacing it with one of those AirBeds. Before we got this MH with the air mattress, we used an AirBed. Never slept on it, but never received any complaints for those that did.

RE: Basement Air

I think you got most of them in your post, I have also had both and like jerseyjim you give up some storage. Both work very well, roof vs basement air would not be a deal breaker for me. Need to make sure DW likes the floor plan, if not then that's a sure deal breaker. LOL! Got to keep the little women happy. If she's happy RVing is much more fun.

A friend has an 06 Bounder and as Peeta says it was his grill that caused the problem, he sealed the ends also, fixed the problem.

RE: Body Shop Needed

A friend visiting from CA just left my driveway in his 05 Monterey heading back to CA after having his Utility Bay door reskined and paint by AZ Truck and Coach - 480-223-7550, they did an outstanding job.
Good Luck,

RE: Winnebago, basement AC, verses Roof top ?

Have had both, would not be a deal breaker, biggest disadvantage to me is the loss of a storage compartment. Floor Plan is more important to DW.

RE: 1 1/2 bath Class A ????

Love ours, we have a 40 ft Beaver Santiam, for room I might suggest that 40 ft be your min length. Winnabago Tour is offers a bath and half this year with a full wall slide. Looks pretty nice. Good luck on your search.

RE: Day/Night Shades Down or Up When Traveling

If it's hot and sunny, I'll leave them down; if it's cool and sunny I'll leave them up. If someone is riding on the sofa or elsewhere in the coach, it's up to them.
This is what we do.

RE: Front or Rear Diesel?

I have to agree will all previous posts, we have had a gasser or two and I would think you would have same noise and heat issues with the FRED, we really like our pusher and like others have said the pusher will probably be more money, but you sure get nice quiet ride.
Also, recommend diving both and don't forget to take the DW with you, lots of input for your decision.
Good luck with your search and decision.
