RE: insecure or inconsiderate

I place those folks in the inconsiderate category but just in case I'm wrong, perhaps you could ask the manager to check with them to see if they are unaware they have left them on and suggest they turn them off?

RE: Are you a tourist or traveler?

"Travelers or tourists?" Perhaps this is a distinction without a difference? Seems to be so to me, anyway.

RE: The Road Back North

Your route is fine but you might want to wait to head that direction or plan to spend a few weeks sightseeing on the way. My Iowa (Ames)relatives have not seen grass for a long while, they say, and it is not over yet!!

RE: New RVer

Sounds to me as if you may be considering a 5ver that is too heavy for your truck. Others will chime in with more specific numbers, I'm sure, but I know our 1 ton would not tow our 32' Seahawk which weighed 14K. I'm sure with enough research & info from this forum, you will find a good rig, tho.

RE: Land Between the Lakes KY and Clinton SP Kansas

I'm not sure what you mean by "scene"? I am very familiar with the LBL area and several of the COE & NFS parks. If I can help, PM me. If you are talking about safety, etc., the LBL area is very family oriented.

RE: Asian Ladybugs!

But don't smash them - they have a bad smell when mashed!! They will bite, too! Nothing serious, of course ,,, just enough for you to slap them reflexively!! Note: old fashioned red ones do none of these things, just the orange ones.

RE: Replacing bed in class A

Can't see any reason why not - as long as you can get it in the door and the older one out.

RE: How few miles

On the street at the end of our driveway - about 40 feet. Whenever we have company - they get the house bedroom, the dogs & I get the MH!

RE: DINGHY OR NO DINGHY

I second taking the toad. (As an FYI, typing in all caps is the internet equivalent of shouting, you might want to not do that)

RE: Splendide washer-Dryer 2000s

You can get a new handle from Splendide. Cost about $35 a couple of years ago.

RE: U shape dinette or not?

We much prefer the table/chairs, too. In fact, I took the dinette out of the current MH and replaced it. Much more comfortable and versatile.

RE: Caravan or go it alone Alaska

Alaska is perfectly doable on your own but if you are more comfortable traveling with a group, prefer to have your reservations all taken care of, and do not mind traveling on a schedule, you might like a caravan. Take the longest time period you can and you will miss very little. If you prefer to park a while, look around, hike, etc, then move when the urge hits you, you might prefer to go alone. Whichever you choose, allow as much time as you possibly can - there are highways only to a small percentage of the state, but it is still a huge area with lots of driving.

RE: My DW can't make up her mind

Our zoo population changed this past year - we lost Sam the cat but gained Chrissie the chihuahua and Lucy the Jack Russell mix so we now have 4 dogs. Since Don's health prevented our going to TX this winter, we haven't had a chance to RV with all of them but the only complication I see for us is that Don now will take an extra long time to come in/out the exit door so I will have to hold Chrissie until the door is closed. The others will wait, I'm not sure of her, yet. I will have to take them out for their chores 2 at a time. Since Lucy & Katie are early risers and the 2 chis sleep a little later and are in crates, that will be manageable. Whatever it takes, I will work it out.

RE: Washer/Dryer In-Motion

While I do not make a routine of doing it, I have done it. And while driving in Alaska, no less!

RE: Anyone use Motorbike in lieu of Toad?

To me, that wouldn't be very practical. Our toad is used for much more than an emergency vehicle. Sightseeing, shopping, etc., for instance. You would be limited to traveling in good weather - or at least I certainly would be! Would a trail bike transport two people? You sure couldn't take anyone else with you anywhere such as eating out.
