RE: ROOF REPAIR

I did a Tech Tip on my Forest River about 2 years ago, I can email you the pics on it if you like and I can explain the entire repair where I had to replace wood on the roof

RE: Honda EU2000i Just Got LOUD !

Do you mean like an exhaust leak loud, muffler in general got loud or maybe something is drawing down on it making it lug a little. Does the eco throttle still work? Is it the same db volume without anything plugged in to it?

RE: Trailer Insurance

I just paid mine from State Farm for the entire year at $82 BUT... I have it insured for only $6500 replacement value because it's 9 years old
With that said I used to insure my 2003 Forest River Flagstaff for $450 per year with Gilbert RV Insurance and the replacement value was only $10,000 so I think State Farm is the way to go.

RE: Changing the TV out

I just mounted a flat screen in my TT with a standard wall arm and I secure it while driving with a bungee cord. I would say NEVER drill though the roof or the exterior wall. You will have to look around the inside of the unit and find a place that has a secure area to drill. When I did mine I took some aluminum angle so I could extend the area I wanted it to mount to because there was nothing reasonable to screw to.

RE: R-Vision SuperSport 27' Value?

I like my R-Vision and it's older so it's hard for my to attest to quality because ours has minor issues die to age. I can say this... a lot of items that were on our Forest River Flagstaff were standard and the R-vision we have is lacking some fairly basic things that you would assume were standard like rain gutters. With that said I own a 9 year old R-vision and it has NO delamination what so ever when our brand new Coachman did with in one year. I am disappointed with the floor and how it's constructed, it is 1/8" thick luan on each side with 2" thick foam in between that with no side to side steel supports. This makes for a spongy floor that can only be fixed with adding supports that I am working on right now along with a lift kit.
Just pay close attention to all the details that are important to you and you should be ok.

RE: First Time Trailer Owner

Hello. I am purchasing my first travel trailer. I am looking at a 2010 Cougar 30BHS. What is a reasonable price for this unit? Also, which sway and brake controller would u recommend? Thanks for your reply...The Cougar I don't know much about but I did like my Equalizer WD hitch even though it was horribly noisy and even though people like the Prodigy brake controller I have not had any issues with my cheaper Primus controller in 3 years

RE: New PASSPORT 2910bh GT. Need advise

I used to have a toy hauler that advertised 6500lbs but mine with all the options was 8800lbs dry... loaded with toys, water and fuel was 12,500lbs and I'm here to tell you that was too much for my gasser GMC 2500HD 4x4. It was such a chore to haul that we didn't want to use it and decided to sell it and buy a lite weight unit that is a pleasure to pull. With that said look for a lite unit that is maybe half of your max tow limits and by the time you load it and the truck you will prob be ok and happy. Also look in the cabinet for the actual weights because they vary so widely.

RE: Honda Generator Maintenance?

I agree with the other folks here, I only use premium fuel in my Honda's and when it's time to put one of them away for a period of time I mix Sea Foam in the premium then run it for a while to circulate the fuel in the carb. I then drain the fuel in the tank and then run it out of fuel and put it away for the season. I use an Eu3000is in the summer and an EU2000i in the winter. This ethanol in the fuel is a son of a gun though, it can mess up a carb in a short period of time so make sure you use a stabilizer like Sta-bil or Sea Foam

RE: Pairing Honda EU2000i questions

Soooo have you looked at the new Honda EU3000i Handi?
It now has a pull along handle and wheels at around 78 lbs.
It does not have electric start but who cares?Read the decibel specs... they're a bunch noisier than most Hondas and Yamahas
EU3000is = Noise Level 58 dB @ rated load 49 dB @ 1/4 load
EU2000i = Noise Level 59 dB @ rated load 53dB @ 1/4 load
EU30001 Handi = Noise Level 65 dB @ rated load, 57 dB @ 1/4 load
Every 10 decibels = double the noise... for the money I don't think the Handi is worth it not to mention I already own one of the EU2000i gennys so I would only need to buy a second one.

RE: Pairing Honda EU2000i questions

For me the big bonus is that I can lift each 46lb genny one at a time and then the extended run tank and all of this will save my back. I will hate to get rid of my EU3000 because it is the quietest genny I have ever heard in my life and the EU2000 is a little less than double the volume but the weight factor is prob going to win in the end

RE: Tankless hot water?

I have an Ecotemp at our cabin in Kissimmee Florida and we love it, the Ecotemp is a portable unit and is not rated to be inside so we have a temp installation outside and pipe the hot water inside. I know this is not an RV but maybe it'll help you... we love it so much we upgraded to larger unit so we could run a shower and a sink at the same time. The use very little lp gas and fire up on pressure so when the water moves the heater turns on. The igniter runs off of 2 D cell batteries and they last at least a year. They can be had cheap on Overstock.com

Pairing Honda EU2000i questions

I tried to look through the archives but about went blind reading so please excuse me if this is a typical question.
I have both a Honda EU2000i and an EU3000is, both work great considering their limitations. I now dry camp prob 95% of the time and in the winter the EU2000i runs my TT (less the a/c) at a rate of about 10-12 hours per 1 gallon of gas. In the summer I use the Honda EU3000is and it runs the entire TT with the a/c on at a rate of about 15 hours on 3 gallons of gas. Here is my question... My truck is lifted and picking up that EU3000is is starting to kill my back and I was considering selling the 3000 and purchasing the new EU2000i Companion and linking two EU2000i's along with my extended run fuel tank (3 extra gallons). What kind of fuel economy (on average) can I expect to see running 2 EU2000i generators and also with 2 running how much louder will they sound. Because 2 are linked do they rev up less under load.
Thanks in advance

RE: Looking for a tv wall mount link

Ahhhh I found it
If anybody needs one scroll to the bottom for the pricing on smaller TVs, the one I had in my Flagstaff came from this place and held up very well.

Looking for a tv wall mount link

When I owned my other Forest River TT in the early months of 2008 I upgraded my television to an LCD. Somebody here posted a link to a site that had the cheapest pricing on wall mounts that I have ever seen... mounts starting at $13
I lost the link and have been searching this site for an hour with no luck, does anybody know who posted that link or know a site that has cheap LCD TV wall mounts?
Thanks in advance
