RE: Tires

I just had 6 new 245/70R19.5 Gladiator (china) tires installed last week and 4 of the 6 were out of round so much they couldn't be balanced.
My dealer replaced them with Kumho (Korean) tires and they are smooth as glass. Difference in price was $490.00 (81.00 per tire)I did have them put new balancing beads in them also.
So far very pleased with them but I don't think I will try Chinese again.

RE: New tires

I just put 6 Kumho 245/70R19.5's on my coach and am very happy with them so far. $1891.00 out the door including new brass solid valve stems and balancing beads in all 6 tires. BTW this was in CA. with 10.25% sales tax plus all of the federal taxes and surcharges included.
They ride very smooth and quite

RE: Toyo vs. kuhmos, 245/70 19.5

If you have a choice I would go with the Toyos. I just had 6 new Kumhos installed and am happy with them. I would have gone with the Toyos but here in CA. the price difference was $200.00 a tire. For $1200.00 I don't regret getting the Kumhos.

Well, FWIW Everybody I know that has used Team Ramco Transmission service in Yuma has been very happy with their work. They are not an official Allison service center but I know of four different people that have had thier Allisons serviced there and have had no problems getting parts or TransSynd. Don't know if they have a web site but their phone # is (928) 344-5360

RE: Power Gear Slide Out Gearbox Failure

Here is the email for a Fleetwood retired factory tech that is on the Bounder Yahoo forum. He has an inside access to Power Gear and can likely help you at about 1/2 the price of retail. He is in California also but will mail parts anywhere. He is a great tech and very honest.

RE: Toad Braking Systems

Can anyone give a recommendation for a preferred braking system for a toad?
I'm sure you will get at least 50 answers soon but FWIW I use a US Gear Unified tow brake, this is the third car and 2nd M/H it has been on and it is still going strong. Only had one problem and that was fixed under warranty.

RE: Yuma durning the week

Lots of stuff to do in Yuma, Thursday thru Sundy is the big swap meet on 32nd. street known as the Market Place. A ton of places to eat such as Burgers & Beer, The Hunter Steak house, Brown Bag Burger and of course all of the chain resturants. Including Cracker Barrel You can also visit the Yuma Marine air force base and just north of town is the Yuma Army proving grounds that is open to the public. The downtown area is undergoing renovation right now but another grat place is Lutes Casino (a resturant).
Good luck and have fun

RE: TPMS Tire Temperature Question

Normally the temp setting is pre set at 157 degrees from TST, odd your is set lower.
I agree my TST monitor is preset for 158 and it has never gone off. I would call Dan or Melissa at TST and ask them about it.

RE: Dometic Side by Side kicks off of gas after a few hours...

On a 13 year old reefer, I would start with the thermocouple. You can check it to make sure it is keeping the gas valve open. Cheap quick fix is to just replace it with a new one, takes about 10 mins. tops.

RE: workhorse engine brake???

can a option like that be added to a 2004 w/h chassis w-22 and if so has anyone had it done and any opinions about it?
thanks
joe
Yes, it can and their is a company in Wa. that makes it. you can see it HERE
Not cheap but will make it operate like a 2009 coach. If you go to their site they can give you the name of a local dealer that can do it also, if you are near one.

RE: How do you judge tail swing?

I have 36 ft 99 Discovery how do I judge what the tail swing will be? Thanks
Measure the distance from the center of the rear axle to the rear bumper. Allow 1 foot of tail swing for every 3 feet of overhang or portion thereof. That should allow you to clear an obstacle with about 1 foot of clearance.

RE: New Format

I don't see anything wrong with the new format. Right click in the page and select either Back or Forward from the popup box. It's so simple.
Remember, nothing changes if nothing changes.
Don't work that way for me. when I right click on the page the forward button is grayed out, Just the back button works.

RE: Tire Pressure Monitor

I have the TST 10 sensor system for over a year and have never had a sensor go bad yet. I did have two that had very short threads and would not seal right from the start, but they replaced them and no problems since.

RE: Workhorse Brake Failure Update

I have a 2003 W22 which also experienced brake failure last spring just a week before the recall notice. I went to a brake shop and after inspection we decided to replace the rear calipers with rebuilt ones. When the recall notice came out we followed instructions from Workhorse and sent all the info to them. Last week a check came for reimbursement which was over $1,100. They said they were 4-6 months out in dealing with all the requests but they did come through.
bomre340
Please do post you story on IRV2.com workhorse chassis forum. There is a thread over there that is saying NO ONE EVER gets reimbursed. They need to know that it DOES happen, even if rarely.
