If brake fluid had been open I would get new.
As long as the PS fluid has been closed I would still use it.

Piano, what is the lumen output? I had tested one similar but it was too dim.

RE: battery charger

The WFCO 55 is a bit large for just two batteries IMO. The converter will be fine it just may not get into boost mode (14.4 volts) when you expect it to. Monitor your charging voltage on the existing set up as it might work fine.
smkettner you say WFCO 55 is a bit large for just 2 batteries ... Why?...explain please. Right now I have only one 12V group 27 being charged by a WFCO 55 (no problems in 3 1/2 yrs so far, battery still goin strong, we do allot of dry camping) but when the battery does go tits up, plan on replacing with 2 12V's or 2 6V's, don't know yet. Still doin lots of research on what would be best for us.
Milo
See highlighted text. Does your WFCO-55 charge at 14.4 volts when the battery is low? What size and length wire do you have?

RE: Another dumb tire question

I would look at LT245/75R16. C load would be fine and even if you end up with E I would not go over 50psi. I would never go down in size (225).

RE: Adding Solar and Inverter to Sprinter

400w might drive the fridge (360w?) but not the microwave. My Prosine 1800 runs my microwave just fine and the instructions recommend 400+ amp hours of battery connected with short fat wire. My microwave will draw 150/170 amps out of the battery. Since you have a generator you might consider installing a $250 system instead of $2000. But that is up to you.
I also have a 300w GoPower sine wave inverter to power the outlets for laptop/cell phone/tv/dvd/games/etc. This setup did not require pulling any wire let alone 4/0 so with the description of what you mostly want to run it seemed like a simpler solution.

RE: Flat tire - do those 12v pumps work?

If it clamps direct on the battery and has a 30+ amp fuse it is probably a good one. The little buzzy noise makers that push into the cigar connector are weak but may well work in a pinch.
I carry the masterflow mv50

RE: Adding Solar and Inverter to Sprinter

I don't think you need or want a honking big inverter. 300w to 400w should power everything. Your PD9160 converter is fine but do you have a charge wizard for it?

RE: Battery Help

So, the standard blade fuses from an auto parts store will not work? If not, where can I get a spare fuse?
Thanks...
Fuses are standard at any autoparts store. The converter diodes do the detecting and the fuses protect them from reverse current.

RE: Percent Grade?

6% is normal every day stuff. 8 to 10% will slow most people down but not cause worry. 12%+ is time to worry.
If you see a sign like this (Sonora Pass) turn around:
