RE: 2 Motorhomes on fire at Walmart (video)

Wow, 9 pages and not one person has wondered if there were any animals in the Prevost. We do know that RVer's leave their pets unattended all the time....don't they???

RE: 5er or Motorhome for fulltiming -- a new approach

Hmmm.....seems like a whole lot of rationalizations for the decisions we've made. Unfortunately this is starting to read like a residentail real estate "Pros and Cons" discussion. It's getting complicated to follow.
Just camp folks, forget the dollars and cents and enjoy the lifestyle.
ya, seems to me the whole point of the OP was lost...

RE: Road Rage...Chopper vs Motorhome

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Also you'll hear the Officer say that the motorcycle pulled in front of the motorhome and slowed down dramatically but he did not say the mc braked."
Semantics, doesnt alter the fact that braking or dramatically slowing down in front of a large heavy vehical isnt smart.
correct
"What would cause the mc to slow dramatically? down shifting? engine stall? Any other posibilities out there?"
Making a stupid, ultimatly fatal point could be a cause.
correct again
"Sounds to me that the mc didn't have his vehicle under control."
Or was it the cycle driver himself not under control?
that caused the mc to therefore not be under control. sounds good to me.
"On behalf of the mc, who's to say the mh didn't murge into traffic at an on ramp and cut the mc off?"
If true, that justifies such a reckless response?
nope! just throwing out ideas of what ticked the mc off
"or the mh stepped on the gas to get up the steep grade and shot a cloud of black smoke out the back (it looks to be an older mh) and the mc got a big whiff of fumes?"
The mc driver was overcome by fumes causing an involuntary acceleration to the front of the MH then an inexplicitly dramatic correction via the dramatic slowing?
possible? sounds pretty out there for me...:@
"who knows...the whole story hasn't been told. "
If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, its likly its a duck.
and a dumb one at that

RE: Road Rage...Chopper vs Motorhome

The pic is clear, the front MH wheel(s) is/are still on the ground, did the MC take out the brakes and if so how? The MH does not appear to be riding up on the MC and therefore not in contact with the ground. There is still something wrong with the pic unless somebody set up the MC after the fact. When was it under the motorhome, from this pic it was never under the motorhome just under the bumper and maybe radiator. How did it dig into the asphalt if it was still upright with the rear MC tire in contact with the ground? What dug into the road?
Probably some sort of conspiracy involving the CHP.....or.....you could watch the video.
yes, there's a few here who need to watch the video...:R

RE: Road Rage...Chopper vs Motorhome

Witnesses and Antoine later told authorities that the motorcyclist had made obscene hand gestures, pulled in front of the motor home, then slowed down dramatically, Uhrich said.
Nice, the motorcyclist uses obscene hand gestures, cuts in front of RV, slows down dramatically...don't forget we've got witnesses and some want to fry the RV'er???:h

RE: Two people killed while changing tire on camper

WEBSTER, Mass. -- Two people from Texas were killed early Saturday morning as they were changing a flat tire on their camper, Massachusetts State Police said.
***, 81, and ***, 77, were parked in the breakdown lane on Route 395 North in Webster trying to change the tire when they were hit by a 2006 Nissan Altima, police said. The pair, of Cottonwood Shores, Texas, were both pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Altima, Geoffrey K. Wahome, 21, of Lowell, was seriously injured when his car flipped after the crash. He was taken to UMass Medical Center in Worcester.
The crash remains under investigation.
Accident is still under investigation with no indication on who was at fault yet several here want to tar and feather the car driver.
Article did not provide any information oh who was at fault so why assume it was the car driver at fault.
Based on the story it seems the driver of the car had to leave the roadway to hit the couple. They were parked in the "breakdown lane" OFF the roadway.
hmm, seems to me like the 21 yr old is at fault as of right now. My guess is that he was texting or on the phone. What a shame!

RE: Letters from Son in Basic Training! VIDEO 10-6-09 (pg 16)

Hey Julie, I sent his card tonight but not sure how long it will take for him to get it. Sorry I was running slow! My son just mentioned that he'll send a card/letter also. They need all the support they can get. Maybe Aaron can send Andrew one when it's his turn, lol.

RE: Why not wave??????

Sometimes i wave to fellow F250 SuperDuty people, but then i think i look silly that i forgot i'm driving my POS VW bug to work.
I tried waving while driving my vintage bug but they only wave if you're in their local club.
I even tried waving to all jeeps but again nothing. They snubbed me and I was in the rubicon...:B
Now I just nod my head & grin. You can take that many ways...hi, how are you? hey, it's a great day! yep, my trucks bigger than yours! ok the last one I'm joking, sometimes...:B

RE: Need help with packing/organization/lists

It's all about the "list"...
start a list to leave on the counter of the TT for everything that gets taken/used while sitting at home in the driveway. Before the trip, grab that list and figure out what needs to be replenished.
start a list of "all" items that come from the house... i.e. toiletries, special slippers, the kids favorite game.
start a list of "all" items that stay IN the TT so you have a check list that they're are not stolen.
Now if you're creative you can combine all these "lists" on a computer and use a new print out each trip.
and here was my solution... camping check list

RE: Jayco & Heartland Settle Trademark Infringement Case

You'd think that Heartland would have just a little bit smarter people working for them?? Why would you try to steal or want to name a new product after someone else's,unless they know that the quality and reputation of that brand is well known and would help in selling their new product....
Maybe they're smarter than we think???
Regards, Hamshog
Exactly!
Reputation is a crucial aspect of business. Any business who tries to feed off of their business/reprutation/name could hurt them in the long run. They shouldn't be looked down upon for defending that.
As a family member of a business owner, in the Pacific Northwest for 38 yrs., it's amazing how many mom & pop shops tried to feed off his reputation and name that he built in the community. Once people start linking a bad product or bad experience with your company even though it's not you, it takes a lot to change the tides. If you walked the shoes, you'd understand.
