Hmmm, interesting reading.
I just entered my figures from my TV & TT rating plates and scale readings from the other week into the calculator that sumguy posted a while back.

Some of the values showed up in red (a deficiency or needs attention)! It's quite possible that I've entered some erroneous values, likely in the trailer arm and truck arm measurements but I'm glad to see it thrust in my face on paper (onscreen) rather than when it really matters!

Usually when DW and I camp it is travel via boat and we have to be particularly careful as to how much we bring and how we distribute the load so I'm sure that we'd pick up on any inconsistencies in balance and total weight. But it is less noticable on sprung weight compared to a craft that is floating. It's usually pretty obvious before even leaving the dock that things ain't quite right... with a TT it could take a few miles to realize that something's amiss!

We'll have to be extra diligent before we leave on our first trip this spring. Luckily we have time for a few weekenders fairly close to home before we head on our very first planned 3K mi trek! One good thing is that our weights are well within the limitations of our rig so it shouldn't be a big deal to simply arrange the weight appropriately.

Thanks sumguy, for posting that link! To anyone else concerned with their rig weights you should check out the .xls spreadsheet (a few posts back) that sumguy posted.

Hey;
Is there a similar site for Fords?
I've been to most of the forums and posted on some of them.
I get confused by all the good intentioned but conflicting advice.
It'd be nice if Ford had a place to go for information or have I missed something?
