I got a firepit in the backyard, but rarely burn anything unless it's wood that has been cut from a tree trimming project after it's dried, or from three MONSTER oak trees in my back yard, if the wind brings down a much older dead limb. I wonder how old the largest one is? I bet if three of us held hands and made a circle that you might not be able to get around it's base...believe I'm going to measure it. The leaves are turning in the higher elevations. Still green at my eleveation. I have the three oaks, a maple, a "wild cherry", two poplars in the front yard, a Bradford Pear, a Japanese Jerry, a Japanese Maple, 8 Leyland pines, a blue spruce and three more pines of a different type, (type excapes me right now). I like green in the wintertime and the pines give me that. That doesn't count our "bushes"
Two Forsythias, 4 Rose of Sharons, oh, I can't remeber them all and I forgot the Magnolia tree that bloomed all over the place this year, the smell was awesome. The back of my property is in the "woods". We love it. Wow, I really got carried away there, didn't I. Anyway, we usually get a pile of stuff that "needs' burning and we have a "campfire" in the backyard..like Shun said, it's like being camping.
Hey, hope all of you had a great day. It was really nice here again today, but understand we're going to go through a little cool down, highs in the mid to upper 60's and the lows in the mid to upper 40's.
Yeah, I love autumn. Hope your feeling well...take care out there, I'm going to watch some TV.

Just got back from the local "pumpkin patch". A local farmer converted his place into a fall amusement park, with rides, shows, corny humor. They have about 44 firepits with picnic tables you can rent, firewood included. We had about 6 families around a campfire, just roasted dogs, marshmallows, usual stuff. Good wholesome fun.

Shun, sounded like a nice place for the family to be. Making memories, it's what family is about. Hope all of you had a good day. It was 45 degrees this morning, got up to 75, sunny all day. Appears it's going stay like this for the next couple of days. I will probably mow the yard tomorrow. I love this time of the year. I'm getting a hitch put on my Mitsubishi Outlander. It's "kicking" 225 hp and it's a 4 wheel drive. Towing capacity is 3,000#..popup loaded is approx. 1400 or so. Thought it would be more "economical" to use the SUV to take the pop up out as opposed to the dually. Thinking about taking it out next weekend with the DW, Miss Amber and the 2 dogs. Short get away for a weekend. Sort of wait and see how the weather will be.
Watching some TV, got to get cleaned up, y'all take care and I hope your all feeling well. Catch ya later.

DW and DIL are getting ready to paint the living room. I'm helping mostly by staying out of the way, and making store runs (more spackle, ice cream, etc.).
Our missing cat was brought back today. She got out over a month ago, the guy said she has been in and around his shop for about 2 weeks. When she didn't come home, we figured a hawk or dog got her.
Got the license plates for the Tioga the other day. $270 for permanent plates, no renewal, EVER, as long as we own it! One of the benefits of having a '95 model! Hmmm... Just think of the money I could save if I got rid of the '06 models, and got rigs 11 years old or older!
Nah, the '06s are spendy for the registration, but I like them !
Y'all have fun, now, I'll check in t'morra.

I'm "camping" in the backyard a little now. My son had a bunch of friends over so I put up the tent in the backyard. They played "spy" all evening with flashlights and walkie talkies. We parents had pizza around the firepit as the temps cooled down.
I hate that yearly registration fee around here too. Big incentive to have older vehicles for me. Only have one plated motorcycle the last 2 years.
Going to get started with my day now, after my coffee.

Quiet weekend here for us. no KIDS! House is so lonesome feeling. Art and I even went out to dinner last night. Then today we missed the little ones so much we went shopping and bought clothes for them lol what a life. I have been doing a little sewing too, and making a disk of embroidery patterns to send my sister. She does machine embroidery too, but doesnt make her own patterns. She has a new grand child and wants to make him some special things. Glad you all are out enjoying your back yards. I hope you all made a few mickies, they taste so good. Children really like doing that, and they even eat the potatoes. Well, I am going to be outta here, and looking into Arts big blue eyes. You all have a good 'un.

Jim, your pop-up got me to thinking, maybe I can find one for the kids to use. I been kinda keeping an eye out for one, found one at a rummage sale yesterday. Nice little Jayco, not sure what year, VERY good condition. Guy said he wanted $900 for it. Hated to pass on it, but the budget just won't handle it right now.
I'll keep watching...
The painting is done, now to figure out how to arrange the living room furniture. Hopefully, we won't have to change it more than once.
We are getting a light sprinkle at the moment, looks like the fall weather is coming in. "THEY" say that our weather systems this winter will be coming down from Alaska instead of from the Pacific Coast, so we will have a colder winter, with more snow.
Maybe it is time to start thinking about going south for the winter...

Another hard winter? I suppose I can complain or adapt. New tires for the truck just came in. Maybe get back into skiing since kids are older. I think we have a little painting to do also, DW will let me know
