I'm new as you can see. I've read all the shortcuts. Now I have to ask a dumb question again: what is PM?

Never drive with your TV antena up, that is easier to do than you think. The fore-mentioned list is an excellent idea.

When you put the tv antenna up, place your mh keys on the handle. You can't drive away without putting your hands on the handle. That should help even the most senile of us.

"Big Rig Friendly".....isn't. Sure you can fit a 63 foot rig into one of their spots but you can't get to it without hitting 20 tree limbs, two spot markers, and 7 pickup trucks parked in the narrow road you have to take to get into your spot.

Get out of the way of truckers at Truck Stops. Get your fuel and pull ahead of the pumps so they can fill up while you pay.

Keep your toad doors locked while driving on I-10 near the boarder.

Keep your rear drive tires on the ground when you level the coach....no ground contact means no brakes and the coach will move.

"Being Level" is a general condition which will vary each time you level the coach. Level for the refer. is not always the same as level for your bed.

Don't try to pull you toad while it is in park. (Don't ask)

Don't put the peanut butter in the cabinet that is covered by the slide while traveling.

Don't trust the quality of campground power or water.

By the time you hook up 30 feet of water hose with a filter to your motorhome...along with 200 other people...chances are you won't need a pressure regulator...but if you do...chances are somebody left theirs on the spigot.

Don't believe the black tank level gauge...dump every few days or sooner with a smaller tank.

People entering a freeway don't have a clue how to merge so be safe and move over to the left lane to let them in. (There is a white car outside or Houston, TX that can attest to what happens when you forget to check the freeway lane before you enter a freeway.

You can't see your toad in your mirror unless you are turning. Use your rear camera...if you don't have one..get one.

Driving in a rainstorm is not fun; the only thing worse is driving in a snow storm...in the mountains....after dark.

Don't let your fuel gauge go below 1/4....unless you want to sit on the shoulder of the freeway and wait for Road Service.

Don't assume the camp ground host will tell you when there is a tornado or flood in the area. Get a weather radio and use it.

Driving on secondary roads and in small towns is pretty and interesting but these places tend to have a lot of low hanging tree limbs.

No matter how well you are doing climbing a steep mountain grade...there will always be a truck passing another one right in front of you going 20 mph slower than you are.

Air suspensions have to fill up before you try to drive over bumps...unless you like to feel the suspension jolt and grind when you do so.

Etc. keep them coming......

Try an plan your trip to stop before getting dark. It is no fun trying to pull into a unfamiliar area in the dark. Those objects when hit can hurt.

Great advice, this is a little scary. We're looking into purchasing a Continued Service Plan from one of the camping clubs for our recently bought 2003 Georgetown. Any advice on this??

Congrats, welcome to the forum!!!

1. Be safe and always have a good time!!!
2. Pick up a copy of Billy Idol's Blue Highway and may be a Korn CD
or 2.
3. Get a mobile card for your computer so you can stay in touch with
us and have a place to go to, to answer any questions while on the
road. Seriously, there are so many knowledgeable people here
willing to share their knowledge and help out as you already know.
But the mobile card is a valuable asset, better then any
book you can buy.
4. If traveling alone, stop by your local animal shelter and bail
him/her (your new friend) out of jail. He/she will love you
forever.

I agree about the kmart gloves, but the walmart ones work! I told my wife remind me never buy the gloves from kmart again.
