I just put new Michelin XRVs on my MH this summer at the end of June and my tires had been made the first & second week of June. That was good enought for me.

It looks to me like a dealer could find tires with a recent Mfg. date I don't know if dealers are restricted to certain warehouses or not. I called Customer sevices to day they could not help me. I will give the dealer I started with until 10/29 if no luck I will try else where they are a couple of more dealers in this area but they are higher priced. If I had not already bought one on the coast of NC two weeks ago I would go with Goodyear but I don't want to mix. Roy

One more thing, I don't want to start a argument, the lady I talked to told me the tires were good for 10 years and guranteed for six I told her in the RV industrie they recommend to change at 5 or 6 years and mine was 7 years old. I told her I hated to change brands but I was not going to buy 1 & 1/2 years old tires. Roy

In response to your first post, Goodyear has tires in the size you are looking for. I just replaced my Michelins with Goodyear. Bought them the last week of August to get the rebate. Because of the Goodyear strike late last year most all the tires are new. Mine were all dated only 2 weeks before delivery to my dealer.

I wrote goodyear over tire date issues and they told me what the rv dealers tell me and you, they dont have a time frame on tires..if they have rubber and not cracked, run them.......guaranteed 6 years against what? Blow outs, side wall cracking. I would certainly want that on some kind of paper.

on edit: I am not trying to be argumentative ........just I have never recieved anything from a tire manufacturer unless I had a road debris warranty or something.....

I would like to know where this 5 or 6 years change tires comes from Mfg. or who. The only place I have heard it is on the Forum or a dealer, like I said the lady told me the tires was good for 10 years if no cracking or any others defects where present. Roy

I believe I read on the Michelin site that they now guarantee the tires for 5 or 6 years against weather cracking, but suggest that they not be run for more that 10 years regardless of condition.

The Goodyear site states that the Recreational Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA) says, "statistics indicate that the average life of an RV tire is five to seven years."

Here's your tire in GY,..the G670RV...
http://www.goodyear.com/rv/products/g670.html
I just replaced my Michelins with these...and even though they were 10 years old and still looked good....I've seen too many Michelins lately with huge sidewall cracks...that were not very old....
You can usually get a better price with Goodyear too....and I have a rebate due me.....
I also like Bridgestones....but again it's sometimes hard to get a good price...

The Michelin XZA's I replaced were also 10 years old. They looked great from the outside, until they were off. We could see cracking deep inside the treads. Only a matter of time before one or more failed. Glad we never got to find out exactly how long.

Just got back from a weekend on the new Goodyears. I noticed a significant ride improvement, softer but still sure footed. We were driving in a significant cross wind today. I don't think there was any improvement there, still knocked around pretty good by the wind.
