Hi All,
I've been trying to look for some info on the Fleetwood brand especially the Sunseeker..
We had a good price offered to us on a 2007 leftover 3120DS.
There are pros and cons about it.. we like the floorplan which you can't change.. and don't mind that it doesn't have all the bells and whistles that some have that we were looking at.. like coachman and Jamboree.. but.. we are wondering if some of that may come back to bite us in the butt later..
I see one thing I am not comfortable with. the dump area is behind the back wheels , no problem except they are not enclosed.. only the tire flap protects them from the tires.. any thoughts on that.. I don't see how you could "modify" that..
We don't have any pressure to buy but this is the last one on the lot and this brand sort of fell into our laps.. "something" keeps eating at me about it and I don't know what.. it is a nice coach..
Hubby thinks it may be because it is not "frilly" but I don't know.. I'm not one to get hooked on "little things" ..
Any input would be appreciated.. I've searched everywhere for forums and owner and can't find any..
Thanks

Many trailers have a similar drain location with no issues that I've ever heard of EXCEPT that you need to be careful if you use planks for leveling. As you pull OFF of the planks they can sometimes raise up on the other end and it's not impossible for it to catch the drain pipe. Just a LITTLE caution takes care of the situation. I wouldn't let it be a deciding factor either way. Good luck / Skip

I have a Sunseeker 2900. They aren't made by fleetwood btw, they are made by Forest River.
Having unprotected valves can be an issue, when I was a kid we hit a chunk of tire on the road and it took off the valves. It also took of the exhaust system. And some wiring. And some fiberglass.
Overall I think its a minor risk. I had an older RV with the valves enclosed, and it made it harder to dump as I had to run the hose up through a hole in the bottom of the compartment. Also, it was nearly impossible to use my flush king.
I am really happy with my sunseeker. We added a few of the features we wanted that it didn't have.
Don't take your organs to heaven. Heaven knows we need them here.

We have a 2900 and really enjoy it. You are right about not having the fluff that some Cs have, but a lot of those things don't hold up over time anyway. I like to work on ours, so it wasn't a problem for me that it had plastic faucets and cheap trim, which most do have. I have replaced both faucets with Delta and really like the look and feel of them. I have also replaced the cheap shower head with a nice one from Home Depot. I have put new base around all of the cabinets and bed and really like the finished look it gave. I have mounted a flat screen where the TV stand was in the bedroom and added a shelf over the entry door. So don't let the lack of "fluff" hold you back on any RV. Half the fun of owning a RV is fixing it up to suit you. With the exception of the TV, all of the other things we have done cost less than $250. If we spent more time inside of our Sunseeker while camping, we would have to have a slide. Good luck on your purchase. I wouldn't be concerned about the dump valves location.

I do not know how far you live from OH but take a look at Holman RV. They appear to sell alot of sunseekers at lower prices.

I have a Sunseeker LE 2900. I like in generally, but I have had some problems. First, the window shades keep becoming undone. Not an easy thing to fix, and my kids keep breaking them. Second, the dinette table broke, and requires a lot of trouble setting up or taking down. Both the hinge at the wall, and the hinge on the leg broke. Third, the black water valve got stuck shut. The tech. who fixed it got a bath! (I did tell them the tank was full, but they chose not to tell the tech.)
I want to sell it soon, but before I do, I will have to fix the window shades (again), the dinette, and the rear coach corners that got damaged scraping on the road going up steep inclines. I don't know why they don't make them a little higher so they scrape the frame instead of the coach.

We have Sunseeker 2900LE and enjoy it quite a bit. As stated before, it does not have all the frills. We've taken our on 2 extended trips to Texas and Arizona, towing a our dinghy. Had no problems with it. Made some improvements to it: Bilstein shocks, rear air bags, backup camera, flat panel TV to replace the up front TV (mounted the TV underneath the original TV cabinet. installed a shelf and 2 doors where the original TV was installed for more storage). Only minor problems that I was able to repair: microwave would bounce around in its housing and would have to set it back in place. The hot water heater came loose in its mounting. Had to replace the screws in the face plate. Overal, I think its a good value for the price.

Recently purchased a 2008 Sunseeker (by Forest River) and was ecstatic to find the dump pipe behind a door back of the wheels, even if bottom is uncovered/protected. previous Damon Ultrasport was completely enclosed and drain pipe had to be inserted from underneath and was a pain. If you are hesitant about the purchase I have a feeling it has nothing to do with the sewer outlets. So what is really bothering you????

We have a 2007 Sunseeker 3120DS and have enjoyed it. We bought it for the floorplan. We like the separate bathroom. We too have had some problems but every request has been answered by Forest River thru the dealer. One thing I might add be sure and look under the unit. When we bought ours I failed to because I had never see rust on the chassis of a new automobile. But this one did have quite a bit. However Forest River stepped up and paid for the dealer to power wash it, remove all the rust, power wAsh it again put a rust preventative and an undercoating. I saw each step after it was completed. I don't think you can't beat Forest River for their standing behind their product. No I don't work for Forest River nor own own any of their stock. I just like their product and their customer relations.
