It appears that No other RV Manufacturer

can compete with the price of the Sunseeker...

I have a 2005 2900 LE Sunseeker by Forest River. I haven't had it but a couple of months, but so far I like it. I like the fact that you don't step down to get in the cab. I looked at one RV and it had storage under the house so you stepped down to get in the cab, which at first glance I liked. Then I noticed you could not see out the front window when riding in the house. I don't understand the need for bells and whistles. I camp most of the time with just me and my husband. Then once a year I take my grown kids and their families on a week long vacation. We can ride down the road in comfort and enjoy being together. Then at night we can all get in a bed and sleep (sleeps 8). During the day we are seeing the sights and visiting with family out of state. What else could you ask for.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We have a 2007 Sunseeker 3120DS and have enjoyed it. We bought it for the floorplan. We like the separate bathroom. We too have had some problems but every request has been answered by Forest River thru the dealer. One thing I might add be sure and look under the unit. When we bought ours I failed to because I had never see rust on the chassis of a new automobile. But this one did have quite a bit. However Forest River stepped up and paid for the dealer to power wash it, remove all the rust, power wAsh it again put a rust preventative and an undercoating. I saw each step after it was completed. I don't think you can't beat Forest River for their standing behind their product. No I don't work for Forest River nor own own any of their stock. I just like their product and their customer relations.

Hi Everyone
I wanted to thank you all for your posts about the Sunseeker and correcting my error of who builds them. We have loved ours so far and have taken several trips with it. No major issues say for FR not putting our batteries on a pull out tray.. (Bad design for sure)
THere is one issue that concenrs/ confuses me. The rust that Tarheel Travler talks about above. We looked at ours and saw some as well. When we contacted the dealer they contacted Forest River who stated that rust is not a warranty issue at any time. They have no knowledge about what I saw or read about them paying for it. They suggested I keep the frame power washed to help prevent rust, but it is a steel frame and rust will happen. As a preventative measure, I may want to power wash, allow to dry, steel brush the areas that have rust, spray on a primer and paint and or apply undercoating. This will keep the steel frame well maintained.
I understand that as well as that rust happens but on a new unit such as what TT described?

Has anyone else had this issue or needed to contact FR about it?

What is considered normal for a new unit and what it not?
How do you handle it.. What FR is saying for us to do seems a bit much for regular maintenance. I would think an undercoat would have been applied at the factory and lasted at least a few years with normal wear and tear.
