noticed that the user SpinRite tows an element behind a mh (at least their sig says they do)
I tow an 07 Element SC-but it is a 2wd 5 speed manual-I don't HAVE to have an automatic. That may be the problem for some folks. CRVs don't have a manual transmission option, and some folks don't care for the looks of the Element.

I joined the Honda Element owners club to get some more insight. There were some interesting replies on that sight. According to the Honda owners web sight you can download the towing instructions for a 08' Element which apparently look suspiciously look like those for the CRV.....Things that make you go hmmmmmmmm!

Lunatic, I never knew that forum existed. I found it very interesting.

Thanks for the heads up.

I'd like to trade in my '05 Element in for an '08 for the added safety features of the newer models. I'm aware that the '08s are not approved for towing but does anyone know if a 2wd with a manual trans can be successfully towed. If so, I'm willing to give up my auto trans since I really like the vehicle.

I can show you the letter direct from Honda on Honda letterhead that gives four down towing info for our '05 Ody, but that still doesn't mean you can do it and have warranty coverage!

Just because it's a stick doesn't make it towable, Honda officially says it isn't towable in any form, period.
The ONLY Honda/Accura from '05 on that is offically OK for four down towing is the CR-V.
