We towed our 2007 Arolite from Grand Ledge Mi to Tucson AZ and found that the 2008 Silverado Classic 1/2 ton heavy duty Crew Cab with the 6L gas engine pulled it just fine, but there were just a few gas stations that we were able to pass.
We were getting 10 mpg at 65 mph and 8 mpg at 70 and 75 mph.

This picture was taken just as we were watching one of the great sun sets in Tucson.

I have been thinking of getting one of those caps for the truck's bed. Really like how yours blends in so well with the truck. If I have head room with it suspended from the rafters of the garage when hoisted off of the bed, will start shopping. What brand is yours? White on white, looks real nice.

Hi there Capt Skup, Thanks for the complement. I like the white on white, I ordered it from Covermaster and they paint it the same color code as your vehicle. Here is the web site for them.
http://www.covermasterinc.com/
I ordered from a local dealer in Lansing Mi and that's how I got it. It's a nice cover with darkened windows with sliding side windows and the one in the front unhooks and lays down so you can clean the truck rear window and the outside of the topper window, that's one heck of a nice option.

Oh my gosh!! I have not been on this forum since we got home last April and here we are talking and making plans to get the heck out of Mi again as soon as Christmas is over. Ain't retirement just grand??
We'll be in Mission Texas in Jan 1st,09 for two months and the list goes on... Can't wait.
The Aerolite is going but not to Texas. It's being replaced by a 2009 Rockwood 8313SS made by Forest River. We had a few problems with that Aerolite and all though every thing has been repaired, I just don't trust it any more. The new one is ordered and I'll post a picture to replace the other one as soon as we have it.
I'll be back here as the summer moves on. Looking forward to hitting the road again.
Later.
