given the fact that pet owners are taxpayers too and there are plenty of beaches along this coastline, dogs should be allowed on the beach, at least in certain designated areas.

Thanks for the list of beaches. We plan most of our vacations and any extra time we can get to go where our dog can go on the beach with us. We do not let him run as one time we did (no one was on the beach, early in the am) and he ran straight for the ocean and didn't stop until he realized that he was in deep water. We were headed for the ocean, clothes and all but he came running out. We never let him off the leash just that once to see what he would do. He is well mannered and we pick up after him. If the dog can't go neither do we.
