Jeff
Great story good luck to both of you!
Where is the Sarvey wildlife center located?? I would like to visit.
Each time we get to the East coast ( New Jersey ) we visit The Raptor Trust by the Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge. There you find hundreds of Raptors that have been injured and most like Freedom cannot return to the wild.

Just to clarify folks. The story above is not my own. This came to me in an email from a friend and I wanted to spread it as far as I could. I'm sure Freedom & Jeff appreciate all the kind words.

Cheers!

Jeff,

Bless you for sharing this heartfelt story. Your impact on this "downed" bird of freedom sends a powerful message to all. The fact that you tended to this creature's physical needs in times of disrepair speaks volumes about you. The bird returned that compassion once you knew that you had a physical ailment.

May you and Freedom grow old together!!!

Great Story!!! I LOVE Eagles and have them everywhere. In North Al there are some Eagles that call the mountains and cliffs there home. There is a huge lake close by for their fishing and they have even set up some roost on poles out by the lake. My wife and I were up there March first and saw three Eagles riding the thermals. What a glorious site it was to see these magnificent birds gliding all over the place, sun highlighting their white heads and golden bodies. Just give me chills thinking about it.

I would love to meet Freedom and maybe on day I will have that privilege. Sounds like a wonderful bird.

Glad to hear you are cancer free and doing well!

Great story! If we only knew what went through the minds of Gods creatures!

I have worn a small gold eagle around my neck for years....my good luck charm.

As the owner of a large bird (Amazon Parrot) and lover of birds in general, I'm especially touched by the story. Freedom is indeed a beautiful and special bird!
