I have never unfolded my Class C's brand new awning in six years of owning it. I don't even remember the steps that the dealer went through with me. Should I expect that there will be mildew if I unfold it? Once the weather improves, I plan to check.

There will definitely be mildew. Not sure how much, but ours mildews when not in use. Good luck!

Hard for me to believe you've never used it in 6 years! We use ours as much as we possibly can.

In the 15 months I've had my tt, I've only used mine once. Nothing wrong with the awning...I just enjoy the sunshine.

Why spoil things leave it alone for another six years.

To provide an explanation: I usually camp in shaded areas and do not need another canopy of shade so I have never opened the awning. Also, I usually do not stay more than three days in any one place so I avoid extra set up and take down by not putting out the awning. Since I do not use a toad, it is much easier to come and go with the RV if I do not have to fiddle with the awning. My windows are tinted and as of yet, do not need the awning to help cool the interior.

Did not open mine for four years. Spring went bad, would not rewind after opening it last month, had to rewind it by hand.
