I am hoping to be gone from home on some extended RV trips in the coming year. Because of ease of banking when away from home I am considering not using my local bank but instead WaMu for "online CD investment". (also the interest rate is slightly better than using a bank where I would have everything in paper copy.
Anyone have any experience and advice re doing this in regard to service. Also, I have recently read that there may be fees charged me for buying a CD. Are banking type institutions doing this now?
Thank you and have a great day, Andrea

While we live in Seattle and are quite familiar with WaMu from local information and being small stockholders, we do not bank with them. They have a great reputation.
However, we do all our bank and investment transactions with a major financial institution on the web and have for years with no problems. We buy and sell stocks, mutual funds and bonds routinely on line.
Our experience shows that there is little possibility of problems using the web for financial transactions as long as your computer has adequate virus, etc. protection.
