File a claim. Makes no difference whose fault it is. I did almost $10,000 to my MH, my fault, about five months after delivery. Insurance paid up, minus my $500 deductible, and no premium increase.

May I suggest you go ahead and have the damage repaired. Paying the deductible should not be much of a bite compared to paying the estimated repair.
Insurance is purchased and kept for a purpose i.e. to handle mishaps/accidents that occur to one's property.
Just my $.02 worth.

Looking at that makes me cringe... uck, who needs it.
Yes you certainly must get it fixed. Unless you have already make a bunch of claims against your insurance.... yes, file a claim. That's why you have insurance.
Don't worry about the "poor insurance company" I promise you, they will survive and not go broke.

So much depends upon how your insurance company has you rated. But generally if it was your fault you should expect an increase in premium next year.

That's a tough question and I don't really know the answer. However, I have had damaged to my MH twice, once for $2,000 and once for $1,000, and I didn't file ether time. I have real good insurance rates and plan to keep it that way. Insurance companies around here don't raise the rates, they drop you.

Not all companies drop you. I have lived here,in Florida, 8 years and have filed several claims and I still am with them. I even had a sizable Comprehensive loss to a MH a few years ago when a little hurricane came rolling through this area. No rate increase and they paid the claim promptly as repairs were completed.
GMAC Insurance..good folks in my opinion and experience.

What is the point of having insurance if you refuse to use it?? File the claim.
There is no "full coverage" on a trailer that's attached to your tow vehicle. All you need is comprehensive for when you are using it or are parked. When it's attached to your TV, the insurance on that covers it. Motorhomes are different because they are a vehicle, unlike a trailer.

Recently filed a claim to my insurance company (Progressive) for "self inflicted" damage. The adjustor told me that not only might my motor home insurance go up, but if my auto insurance carrier (AAA) saw that I had filed an "at fault" claim, they may raise my rates also. Don't know if this is true or not.
