Other than replacing the front & rear caps, how about replacing a cargo bay door if one got damaged or any other OEM part. . .also who do you call for information/repair on an electrical, plumbing or A/C problem ? New & current coaches are selling for a 25 to 30% discount so if you could get it for 50% discount and you like it, then go for it as you would be compensated for taking the risk for potential repairs & depreciation.

Nope, would not buy. Financing will be a stretch, unless you offer a huge down payment.

You shouldn't finance a lot no matter the make. you need to not become upside down so to speak....
If you get it for a good price and it's what you want.why not????

I'm sure the National would be a fine motorhome. But why buy one when there are so many other good choices out there made by companies that are still in business. Motorhomes by nature can be a real pain in the rear....why add potential warranty issues to the list.

Why would you do it? Well I guess it depends.

If a used few year old bunkhouse is $80k and a new (without coach warranty) bunkhouse is 60k, would you do it?

Most assuredly! If the price was around 50% from the REAL MSRP or just a few hundred dollars over the REAL dealers cost. Including a fair amount for advertising and onsite maintenance.

Just do a very carefull inspection.

Are these floored by National? If so who does the cash go to? Has National set up a company to handle the creditors?

I wouldn't have any problem with buying if I liked the floor plan and the price was right. I would however shop for financing first, insurance shouldn't be a problem. We have an 8 year old coach where the mfg went belly up a year after we bought it. Great rig no regrets buying it, it's a keeper.

If the price is right and you like the coach, then I would go for it! We thoroughly enjoy our SurfSide and have found that our friends with older National coaches are quite pleased with theirs!I am sure that there are enough Nationals out there on the road that parts will be available because someone will certainly make a profit from making them! I have no regrets with the purchase of my coach because I believe I got a fair deal on the price,I absolutely love the quality of build, the floor plan is ideal for us, and the great times my family and I have in it! Whatever you get just make sure you do your homework and that you love what you buy!
