I am thinking about buying a 2008 Honda CRV and setting it up as a toad. For those of you that have the 2007 or 2008 CRV how much "trimming" was required on the area where the attachment points protrude through the black plastic? Believe this is called the facia area. Do the attachment points come out on the sides of the lower part of the radiator or below it? I am planning on using a Blue Ox baseplate unless there is another one that would require less or no "trimming". Would really like to leave that area untrimmed if possible to help with resale value at some point. Thanks in advance for your input.

Very little trimming,maybe1/2 to 3/4 ". It's the black facia and cuts very easy with shears.I installed the Roadmaster bracket. The instructions are clear with pictures also. My wife and I installed in about 4 hours including a run to Ace Hardware for a 1" drill bit.
The trim is on the very bottom of the bumper,it is not visible from the front. You would have to crawl under the front to see it.
I could send you a picture of the front if you want.

ronmc is right on the money. I used a razor blade cutting tool that I bought from Lowes. It's easy to cut. Move slowly. Just follow the yellow line on the PDF instructions and try to follow the shoulder or natural line of the valance. You will be in good shape.

Very little trimming and it will not be detectable once the baseplate is removed. I used a Demco baseplate. I cut with a pair of Wiss sheet metal shears.
