Hi
We are taking a cross country trip from Massachusetts to California and back this summer, anyone else nuts enough to spend 7-8 weeks on the road and spend $5k on fuel doing a similar trip?
Major stops along the way
1) Taos, NM ( family wedding)
2) Grand Canyon
3) Hoover Dam
4) Las Vegas
5) San Diego
6) Los Angeles
7) San Francisco
8) Grand Teyton NP
9) Yellowstone NP
10) MT. Rushmore
11) Home

we are only half as nuts. We're going for only 4-5 weeks and going only as far as Arizona and back.

O Yes, We will be on the road shortly. Leaving NC to Florida Panhandle along the coast to south Texas, across Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Up the California coast to North of San Fran. back through Nevada .North Rim of Grand Canyon , across upper New Mexico, Oklahoma, Kansas , Arkansas, Tenn. back to NC

Just got back last month from the up and down trip. Wa to Az, 3384 miles in 31 days with a ten day layover on the coast. July/August will bring a trip to Iowa and then down along the Mississippi to Cape Girardeau, Mo. and we don't like heat so there is nuts. Diesel should be around five dollars a gallon by then. Aren't we lucky?

While you are here in Cali, you might want to consider Yosemite since you will go from San Diego to San Francisco, a few hours out of the way, but what a site to see!
