I filled up in Chattanooga yesterday morniing at $3.95, when I got off from work and started home the price was up to $4.11 at the same station. Where did I leave my 65 VW at?

I wish I could get some of that cheap fuel. Here in western NY diesel is over 4.50 and regular is over 3.50.

A couple of weeks ago I filled my fuel oil tank with heating oil. 225 gallons at 3.75/gallon comes to around $850 per fillup and I go through 2-3 tanks each year. And my house is reasonably well insulated and not very big. I think it may be time to move into the 5er for the winter.

They are just desensitizing everyone... IF the price for regular EVER comes back down to 2.50, we'll be like WOW, this is CHEAP!!!

Don't let them fool you, even though there isn't anything we can do!

Gas is a necessity and not a want, we NEED it. They are playing that card and they know they have us by our b*lls!

as I watch the gas prices rise I'm glad we made the decision to get a seasonal site this year. We are still going to make some rallies this year but they are with in 100 miles.
I'm hoping after the elections the next president steps in and puts the oil companies in line again and the gas prices come down some.

Hold your breath for that to happen! The oil companies have got this country and the gas guzzling countries in their hip pocket. They can do what they want and we will do what we have to until some businesses stop acting like the mistress to the oil companies and start producing alternate fuels. As long as the big oil companies keep paying them to leave it alone, we can't count on anything better. Just my angry thoughts surfacing. I'll settle down now.

I drive around 35-40 miles each way for my daily commute. I have reduced my speed to no more than 60 mph and have been able to keep my fuel mileage in the 18-19 mpg range with the TV in sig. I do switch with the wife 2 days a week and drive her Honda Accord to help with the fuel cost. $125 fill-ups hurt!!

I've started being much easier on the skinny petal too! I keep the speed down and when I'm on a two lane, I try to keep from holding up traffic if I have to go over the limit by 5 mph to keep a line from forming. If they want to go over that, they can pass on either side of me if they are brave enough.

I say we get all "Road Warrior" on their butts and start high jacking tankers! lol (kidding of course) but you remember all those movies from the early 80's talking about the 'near' future where gas was running out and people took things into their own hands to fill up their 'gassers'? Hummmm

Another classic from that time period (or earlier) was the Cheech and Chong movie where they siphoned gas into a trash can (with trash still in it) and then proceed to pour it (from the trash can mind you) into their gas tank, lol. I was just a kid then but who'd of thought I'd be living what happened in the late 70's again. True that was due to shortage but still, it's still lame. The not-so-government really needs to step in and do something (besides make more money off of us).

Hell, I'd like to be able to buy a diesel one day! lol

If one thing will ruin the economy, its Fuel costs. EVERYTHING requires fuel to get to market and that gets passed on to us. I dont think there's a good answer to this.

I paid $3.79 for diesel at Wally World about 2 hours ago. Thats with a 3 cent per gallon discount with a gift card. From the above posts, I got a deal.
