NADA book value. Dealers ALL talk about KBB this KBB that, but if you watch them look up the value of your trade, they always grab the NADA book. At least anytime I've dealt with a dealer.

Unfortunately it is not just SUV's the pick up truck market is way down, a dealer won't give you as much as you think for your's because they can't sell it. We are a very large Auto Group and have our own auction, in the last 2 weeks we ran 50 used pick ups thru and not 1 sold. It is getting to the point that dealers don't want used trucks because they can't get their money back out of them. The new ones are still high until the manufactures start adding rebates or more incentives. The best bet is sell your truck out right but don't expect to get a high price for it.

NADA and Kelly Blue Book are not keeping up with the fast decline in the market. The only true value of your trade is what someone will pay for it, and that would be the auction price guides.

Dealers use GALVES guides. KBB and NADA are worthless unfortunately.

My Dad was telling me that one of the dealers near his house on the outskirts of Houston WILL NOT take ANY brand of SUV on trade and is willing to miss a sale because of it. It seems that there are so many of them being dumped right now that the dealers don't want trucks & SUV's.
Perhaps on the Yukon you could find a year old model that someone got in over their head on and is desperate to dump it. When we replace my wife's Expedition, I expect we'll look hard for a barely used model before checking the new ones.

If you want that vehicle, you can obtain the GM Supplier & Friends price for the vehicle. This is printed on the invoice, and is 5% greater than employee price. Then, contact a GM employee (send pm) to obtain a GM Supplier and Friends certificate. This eliminates the haggle on the price of the new vehicle. You are eligible for rebates/financing offers while using the certificate.

Your lucky he's even considering the F-150 as a trade in. My husband told me last week that a lot of dealerships aren't even considering SUV's or trucks for trade in's. I was floored last week when I saw a 2008 F-150 XLT Supercrew for $18000. If they are selling the new ones for that price with warranty then I don't stand a chance with my 2004.

I just got back from lunch where I drove by two large dealers, one a Dodge/Jeep and the other a Ford. Guess what vehicles were lining the front rows? They were not trucks. All small cars. At the Ford dealer they have a fenced in lot next door that was full of new F-150 and Expeditions, I bet at least one hundred of them.

Yes and they are updated every week based on what the Auctions were doing the prior week.
