Hi all. We are thinking of renting a seasonal site to "store" our trailer while not traveling (ends up being only a little more $ to do so and have a spot for the winter as well) So here's the question. Can or should we leave the rear slide (Queen bed) out when we are not there? Not a big deal to close but just wondering if it would be ok if left out.

I think if you check with the dealer and mfg, they would recommend brining it in... not that being out hurts it but it should be exercised like most mechanical things should... it also helps keep the seals from sticking to the sides and tearing loose...
so if you want to know if you have to... no
if you are asking should you... my opinion is bring it in...
I also think it's a good idea if its closed for long periods it should be moved out as a part of a maintenance item...

we leave ours out all summer,in for winter. We do run them in and out every few weeks (6-8) just to exersise them. Check the tops prior and look for debris. we never use supports under the slides too much chance of problems and dealer said NO.

I would bring it in as well. Even if it has a topper, it can be damaged by excessive wind, water, and falling debris. Over time, tree sap can also become an issue and can be difficult to remove. If the slide is easy to bring in, it might give you some peace of mind knowing you won't have any issues while you are away.

Ultraviolet rays can do a lot of damage on tent ends on a HTT if left exposed unnecessarily. I'd close er up.

We have had a trailer (with double slides) on a seasonal site for the past 10 years and have left the slides out all season for all ten years. This year we opened in April and then got snow on it. No problems. I do inspect the slides and roof a couple of times each season. Do what makes you feel comfortable and causes you the least amount of stress.
Retirement: Waking up with nothing to do and going to bed with half of it done.

We also have a seasonal site (and pull in and out throughout the year). While we are at the seasonal site I always bring the slide in. I don't have a topper, so before bringing the slide in, I always do a quick climb up on my ladder to make sure that there is no debris (e.g., tree limbs, leaves, etc.).
By the way, we're in the same position ... since we have to pay for storage, the seasonal site (with full hookups) doesn't end up costing that much more than the outside storage sites around us are getting.
