I am in need of some help here. We just went seasonal up in the Adorondack mountains in NY state and they do not have cable. We were hoping to get at least antenna reception, but I turned out little ceiling knob enough to tire my arm and nothing. Now we have a digital TV and severy so often we get a fuzzy picture, then poof! From what I have read on digital its all or nothing. Now I do have the standard outside amplified antenna that comes on most RV's. Is there another amplifier I can get to boost the signal? We are in the trees so I don't think Satelite will work, I do not have a good line of site. Any help would be great, thanks.

Why not talk with the other campers and see what they receive. You might have a bad cable or amp.

Have a great time camping,

1. That is how digital TV signals work. The stations are using lower power and it does not transmit as far as analog signals do. You either have the digital signal or don't have it.

2. I do not know of any other amp that you can add to the pre-amp you already have to boost it. If you boost the signal, you boost the noise as well. Considering you are in the Adirondack area of NYS, you are very remote from most TV stations. The only thing I can think of other than satellite is a 16 element VHF beam with a pre-amp and make sure you get it above those trees. You want something that can reach out over 60 to a 100 miles to grab a signal.

3. Suggest a good book. Better yet, get to know more about your DW and her likes and dislikes!

Enjoy!!!
