Thanks for the update and for sharing information about how these procedures work. Sounds like you are progressing well Chuck!

Hi All,
I am doing well. I hit a major milestone this morning. For the 1st time in years, I am below 350#! I'm getting ready to drop another pants size!
Yesterday I had an episode I won't soon forget, a blockage! I've been told that if you get one, you'll never for it. They were not fibbing. It was painful and not a pretty site. I was eating too fast, not taking small enough bites and NOT chewing my food well enough. I was also eating a small salad, one of the foods that "bandsters" typically have problems with.
Oh well, live and learn.
More later,

Good luck on this next step. I found it really hard to get motivated to exercise for the first three months. Then it is something you actually want to do(most of the time).

Mountain Dog, thank you for the post. Yes, Terry and I need to stop making excuses and get back to the gym on a regular basis.
Merry, yep the blockage wasn't a nice experience to go through. I'll have to be much more careful in the future. Thank for the encouragement.

Sorry to hear you had some trouble Chuck. Sounds painful.
Repeat after me.... I will take small bites & chew slowly... I will take small bites & chew slowly.... I don't want another blockage.

Congratulations Chuck!! Smaller britches already...WOOHOO!!!
From what my gf says, the first couple of fills are 'practice' fills. Learning what you can, cannot eat and learning to eat more slowly.
But watch out for #3!!! She's having a hard time with that one. Said that there was definitly a noticeable difference in the things she could/couldn't eat as well as quantity and how well it had to be chewed. Her third fill was two weeks ago and she is still trying to adjust.
She is still losing weight and looks great!!
BTW- she had a lot of joint pain before the surgery- it is GONE now!! Hopefully, yours will be too!!
Again...CONGRATS!!! will be following your updates!!

Hi Barry and Karen,
Thanks for the post. What you've written is exactly what I've heard. Right now they're just getting the band seated and adjusted, the fun starts later. Yes, there's a restriction now, but nothing compared to what's down the line later.
I'm going back in for another fill the last of October, then another one around Thanksgiving and the holidays. That'll be good since it is always tough to control eating habits with all the good holiday foods around. With more of a restriction, I'll be able to control MY eating habits better.
I haven't really had any pain in my chest except when I had the blockage. Overall I've been doing really well.
Take care and thanks for much for your support and congratulations to Karen for her weight loss as well!
