Mine is over 10 years old, and I have seen a couple of newer floor plans. I give them credit theirs looks better on the outside, mine looks better on the inside. I guess it averages out, besides I'm paid for and really don't care what others think.

A couple of years ago we were pulling a new 20 ft. TT with a new Dodge Dakota. We stayed at the campground at Turning Stones casino in Verona, NY. It's a beautiful campground with nice landscaping and paved parking spaces for the campers. The place was full of high-end motorhomes and us in our little TT. I wasn't ashamed and didn't feel inadequate, but I certainly did feel out of place. There was very little chance of feeling snubbed because we rarely saw anyone outside their RVs.

We bought what WE liked and do not care what others own. Personally, I couldn't care less what folks think of me or my rig! Now my DW a.k.a. the "chatterbox" is a whole different story!! LOL

I live in a nice neighborhood with a very active HOA. My first trailer was a 1980 13' Nomad. It was a little rough, but worked great. We have CC&Rs the state that we can have an RV in front of our house for no more than 24 hours at a time, and no more than 5 times in a month. Guess who was getting nastygrams from the HOA at least once a month. Since it was plugged in to charge, I guess my nosy neighbors thought that Uncle Jed was living in it or something. I got to be really friendly with the office manger at the HOA and she said that they have to send a letter whenever they get a complaint, and that i should just throw them away.
In the 5 years since selling the Nomad I have had a Class C, a Class A, and now a brand new TH and haven't had a single complaint. It is kind of sad that people have to judge others by their stuff. My family had some great times in that little ugly trailer and it started us off into the RV lifestyle.

Oh by the way. I bought the little Nomad for $550 and did a lot of little projects to it. I put about $150 into it and sold it for $1700. I sold it to a lady who is using it to go to art and craft fairs in the Southwest and Mexico. She appreciated it for the little gem that it was!!

I'm grateful that there are exclusive campgrounds where the snobs can be among their own kind, and spare the rest of us from their company.

Nope. If they don't want me there, chances are they are not the type of people with which I would want to associate. I will gladly avoid them.

We started in a trailer that was 30 years old when we got it. It was in good shape, but older. Not ashamed to spend time with my family and enjoying my kids while their young. Its not what you drive or sleep in, it's the person inside the rig!

Believe it or not, we saw a tent at the WM in Salem, OR, just Tuesday night. There were several RV's, a car and truck with people sleeping; no grills or folding chairs though.
