I currently have a 92 Airstream Land Yacht gas motorhome, and am contemplating upgrading to a desiel pusher. Looking at a 97 Safari Serengeti with low miles, and in great overall condition. Any comments, pro or con on this unit?

I bought a 1995 Safari Serengetti two years ago. At the time it only had 7,000 miles on it. I was a bit apprehensive about buying it because it had sat with such little use for so long. It turned out to be a fantastic purchase and we have enjoyed it tremendously. It is a very well built unit. Go for it and I hope your experience is as good as ours has been.

And when you buy it, if you aren't already a member of FMCA (Family Motor Coach Assocation), join FMCA, and then join the Safari International chapter. You'll learn more about your coach from fellow Safari coach owners than anywhere else. It's a little unusual to see those coaches on the market because the people who own them seem to seldom sell them! We love our Safari coach, and have met many Serengeti owners who absolutely will not part with their coaches. I say go for it!

Great coach, great innovative company when they were Safari (not Monaco). I'd buy one in a heartbeat if in the market. Just check for the usual used coach things, but really look close for electralisis (spelling?) "bubbles".....Matt Perlot, in my opinion, was way ahead of the times when he hit the market with the Safaris of 1995 and up. Super value for the dollar.jmho
