Hey Guys,
I got a read on the book and like I suspected, the wholesale numbers are right down there. To NADA's credit, the retails about matched, both Internet and paper version.
The problem with the online versions, is that a seller can check every option they think their cream puff has and get a greatly inflated price, while all of those options are standard and are counted in the base price. Also the wholesale on a vehicle gives me a far better feel for what dealers would turn one for.
Having been in the used car business, I know that it's only worth what someone will give you for it, but informing yourself on ALL the numbers helps.
To that end, one of the best sorces on the web, is PPL's sold listing.
Even then the one I'm looking at is SOO much better because..... (according to the seller!) We'll see how he fairs.
