I assume your lights and furnace fan are powered by the low voltage (12vdc system) like most rigs. Your symptoms seem to indicate a problem with the charger which is nothing more than a 120vac to 12dc converter that keeps the battery charged and system voltage consistent. There may be an intermittent connection with this thus the low voltage system will be running on battery power alone with no charge at times. This will cause exactly what you are describing. The converter should be supplied with 120vac via a circuit breaker. I would check the connections at the breaker and at the other end where it connects to the converter.

On edit: If it is items that are 12v only and not the AC or microwave then it is the converter. One simple thing to check is all of your wiring connections to and inside your inverter. Sometimes it is as simple as a loose wire and under load it will cripple the amps.

Had same problem recently, have someone check the breaker on the pole. If one leg is bad could result in you symptoms. Good luck

"Anson"....
Is there a specific time of day that this happens, or is it pretty sporadic? I ask only because I worked as a Hydro Plant Operator back in the 60s' and during the warmer months we'd see a large voltage drop around 5:00 - 6:00 PM when folks got home from work and started turning on ACs, Ovens, etc. I've seen a drop of 125V+/- to 104V+/-, (made the TV picture really narrow back then).

If it's sporadic....get out the voltmeter. GOOD LUCK!

Sounds to me like your converter/charger is bad. Tow vehicle is charging tt battery enough it will last about an hour and is being discharged and converter can not recharge or tt battery is really bad and won't take a full charge. Need to meter the converter out put. Just my opinion.

Have the battery checked at a parts house to make sure it is fully charging. Wifes cousin had the same problem and the slides were slow to move when plugged in. Found out the battery was bad.

Anson, Because all of the things you describe lights and furnace run off of the battery , 12 volt. The converter charges the batteries when plugged into shore power and/or supplies 12 volts to these items.
The tow vehicle will also charge 12-volts to the battery when hooked up to trailer but not thriugh the converter.
Hope this helps, Dave
