I just bought a Weber Q 200. I have an adapter that goes from a home BarBQ 5 gal. propane tank so i can hook up my Coleman stove and lamps to replace the small bottles. I tried this adapter hose on the Weber and it doesn't work even though the adapter is to go in the place of small bottle hookups.
They sell an adapter to go to a 20 gal tank that i don't have. Does anybody make an adapter that goes from the barbQ type bottles to the Weber Q 200?

We have one to use with our Q150. I use it with my old 30lb trailer propane bottles. It came in Weber packaging but looks identical to others I have seen. Can't figure out why the one you have would not work. As far as I know, all those small 1lb propane bottles are the same so the fitting on the Q should be the same as other grills.
Anyway, if you can't get yours to work, just go to anyplace that sells
Weber grills and you should be able to get one. I think it was about $12 or so. The fittings on the 5lb and 30lb tanks are the same I believe - just a standard propane bottle fitting. Maybe the tank you are trying to use had the old style fitting that does not have a overfill protection device. In that case, you would have to purchase a new tank.

I use the same adapter hose to hook to the tanks on the front or our travel trailer as I do to hook up to the smaller tank from the backyard BBQ.
The one I got is a 'Mr. Heater' I bought at Camping World. Other places sell these too, I think I've seen them in Home Depot.
The thing to remeber is the saftey valve built into these adapter hoses can be a real pain! You need to hook both ends of the hose up, leave the Weber Q off, and very very slowly open the valve on the 20/30lb tank. Wait a few minutes, and the open the WeberQ valve & light it. Some times I've had to close everything, wait a few minutes and re-do the above steps.
Once its going though it works great the rest of the time were at that camp site. It's sure nice to not have to mess w/the little propane bottles.

I have a Q200 and use a hose to run it off of my 20lb cylinder without any issues. Can't imagine why it wouldn't work. BTW, the Q200 is the bomb. A serious grill in a small package.

I have a low pressure port on my RV that I hook to the Q200. I removed the Q200 regulator since it was not needed (coming off the Low Pressure port) and added a 12' house with a quick connect adapter that fits the RV. This allows me to use the 45 gal LP tank for a lot of grilling.
If you are hooking to a High Pressure valve, you still need the Q200 regulator.
I also love the Q200 cooking!

I bought the hose adapter that is the Acme type.
It goes to the newer type tank that comes with the newer type BarBQ bottles. I take it with me to use the Colman stove and lantern. The end that goes to the Weber looks the same as the small bottles. The small bottle works fine but no propane come from the bottle. It works fine one the above Colman lantern and stove. I bought it at Camping word so I'll take it back and maybe someone there knows what's up.
Thanks
