I am thinking of getting Hughsnet for the house and I have an old computer with windows 95 and I was wondering when I get Hughsnet will that old computer get the high speed of Hughsnet. I will be getting a router so I could use both the old and new. Thanks Ed

If you can get your old Windows 95 system connected thru your router either wired or wireless it will be just as fast on Hughesnet as any other machine or OS. At its best Hughesnet is as good as an older slow DSL connection-- there will be times when it is not that good.
The good news is that it works where other systems don't.

Hughesnet has several different "Speeds" WIth the account I have when I first got it I'd often hit 1,000,000 BPS, When I last used it the top speed was closer to 1/2 that (450-700, thousand)
Will you get that kind of speed with an older Win-95 machine.. Can not tell you .. However I suspect the box can take it.. yes. NOTE: This laptop has sucked data at over 2,million bps in testing on high speed networks so I know that in my case the limit is the connection
NOTE: I get very simular results with DSL.. It too started out much faster.
Nothin adds excitment like something that is none of your business
