We are in Baja and the mangos are fresh and really yummy right now. The mangorita would really taste good about now. wish I had known about Baja Bobs mixes while we were in the states. No Baja Bobs in Baja

This is my recipe:

1) take one can of limeaid and add it to the pitcher.
2) fill the above can with water and add to the pitcher 3 times (3 cans of water)
3) fill the can with tequila and to the pitcher
4) add 1/2 can of triple sec.
5) stir all of the above ingredients until it is well mixed.

ready to serve on the rocks.

I have used this recipe and it is very good. If you prefer frozen, just skip the water and fill it with ice and blend away.

I have also used the above recipe but instead of 3 cans of water I have used Sprite, 7 Up or some other clear pop either Diet or regular.

I also use this recipe however I only use 1 can of water and use 2 Mountaion Dew. DH says sweet but good just the same.

I like the Mountain Dew idea. I will try that the next time.

My high school had an alumni golf tournament this past weekend, and I served these on the first green.

Sunny 'Ritas

one part tequila (anything cheap)
two parts margarita mix (I used cuervo brand)
three parts Sunny Delite (original flavor)

Can be served on the rocks, or freeze overnight, then thaw one hour before serving for slushy 'Ritas.

I find that all the pre-made mixes out there are overly and artificially too sweet, so this is what I have been doing for the last two years:

Make the mix at home
Make a simple syrup using 1 part water to 2 parts sugar. Place in a sauce pan and heat over medium heat until all the sugar has dissolved. Set aside. When syrup had cooled to room temperature, mix in equal amount of lime juice, if you have two cups of simple syrup add two cups lime juice.

Using fresh lime juice is best, but can be expensive and time consuming so I find bottled lime juice acceptable.

At the campground make the drinks to order:

Wife prefers the sweeter version:
Fill large glass with ice
1 1/2 shots of tequila
3 shots of mix
top off with a splash of water
mix well

I prefer the stiffer version:
Fill large glass with ice
2 1/2 shots of tequila
1 1/2 shots of mix
top off with a splash of water
mix well

For other variations, you can replace up to 2/3 of the lime juice with a fruit puree, strawberries, mango's and watermelon works very well.
