I am looking at a 2001 Winnabago Adventure 32' with Workhorse chassis with the 8.1 engine and Allison transmission. What has been your experence with this drive train and with this coach? What fuel mileage?

Had an 04 Adventurer 35' same chassis, the experience was very good. Would check to make sure the plug wires over heat problem had been fixed, it was a recall for 04. Overall very good MH, well made, milage was around 8 towing a toad.

Happy RVing

Can't help you with the drive train since ours is on the ford chassis. I can tell you it's a good coach. We've had very few problems in 8 years and 65,000 miles. So far the worst problem has been a broken plastic elbow on the inlet side of the water heater. It was a little tough to replace with the heater still in the coach.

Good coach, good floorplan....seemed to have a shock issue with this era chassis. Hopefully the original owner negotiated for new Bilstiens!!...as with any used coach, test drive!......good luck.

We have an '05 Voyage with that chassis, that we bought used when it was 2 years old, and had never really been used. (It had 1300 miles on it since delivery.) The only "issues" we've had were the rear axle seals leaked - repaired under warranty. Being somewhat of a mechanic, believe that is was, most likely, due to lack of use. Otherwise, we've had no problems. Gas milage has been between 7 - 8 MPG towing a Cavalier. Doesn't make a difference if we're in the mountains or if the AC is on.
As said previously - test drive ...
Best of luck.

Had a 05 Adventurer, same setup. No major problems. About 8 MPG towing. Wife loved the floorplan and she got 51% of the vote! Enjoy.

Can’t help you with the chassis – ours is a Ford, but we have a 2002 32” Adventurer with two slides. We tow a Jeep. So far zero problems other than normal maintenance. We really like the floor plan and the amenities – just right for us – not too much and not too little. We felt that we got a lot of value for the cost.
