you can buy 5 gallon jugs for water and buy a funnel to refill your fresh water tank. You need to learn how to take a Navy shower and conserve water in other ways.

I think conserving water should ba a major consideration. It took a while to get DW and kids to understand. 1.5~2GPM at a ten min shower is 15~20 gallons of water gone.
Shut off water while brushing teeth, soaping up, etc will make a difference.

When I dry camp I take along a few of those collapsible 5 gallon plastic water containers. I also have a spare 12volt water pump so that I can refill my water tank when needed. I just hook it up to the truck battery and pump away.
After a few dry camping trips tou will learn how to conserve your water and batteries. Have Fun

There are several things you need to consider while dry camping.

My main concern while dry camping is my batteries. If your batteries go dead you won't need to worry about water because you won't be able to pump it. You didnt mention it, but if you're going to dry camp it would be wise to take a generator along. We use our A/C all the time so a generator is a must. We run the generator a couple times a day to keep the batteries charged. Don't rely on plugging your 5er in and starting your truck. That only works well while driving and RPM's are high.

Like others mentioned, I take two plastic 5 gallon water containers (Walmart) and a funnel with me so I can re-fill the fresh water if needed. If you do this you also need to monitor your gray water tank. It fills up alot quicker than your black tank does.

Take a large cooler along and put all your drinks in it and load it with ice. This will also give you more room for food in the fridge. Keep a spare bag of ice in your freezer if you have room. We keep all our drinks, including a case of water, in the cooler. Only the milk stays in the fridge. I also take extra bottled watter, cokes, beer, juice, etc., and fill the cooler as needed. We keep our cooler outside under the awning so we don't have to go in and out of the 5er to get drinks.

Minimize your water use for dishes. We use disposable plates, cups, and untensils and we use very little water for pots and pans.

Remember to turn your hot water heater swith off until you actually need hot water. It only takes about ten to fifteen minutes for the water to get hot so there's no need to keep it on all the time. Same with the water pump switch.

Hope this helps a little. Have fun.....

Save, save, save Water.

One little tip: If you are washing your dishes and rinse them,
save the rinse water. That does for cleaning your dinette table,
picnic table cloth, stuff like that.

x2 but i made a connection to plug into my trailer hook up on the back of my truck and just plug in there. My father in law buit a big holding tank in his truck to fill his trailer while we dry camp out at Christina lake in BC, works awsome and virtually no work!
