35' class A no tow.
Have heard 101 south and take 199 north back to oregon to I-5 also,
go north on 101 up to coos bay and take 42 over to I-5
Looking for the fastest easiest drive will be heading south on I-5 down to Redding then Chico Calif.

I would take 101 South to 197 which meets 199 and West to the 5--
Makes no sense to go 80 miles North to Coos Bay--
You will have to loop back North a bit but the alternative (299 West)
is a real grind. Nothing really wrong with it-- Just seems to take an eternity.
If you are headed farther South, Sacramento or below, then the best route is 101 South to 20 and then West to the 5 at Williams.

I agree with what Electronpusher said.
I want to leave this earth quietly in my sleep like my grandfather and not like the hysterical, screaming passengers riding in granddad's RV just before the big crash.

I second 101 to 20 to 5. If you take 199 to 5 you'll have the Siskiyou mountains to cross; summit is 4310'. 101 is basically flat with a few hills (compared to mountains) to go over. Driving speed is slower on 101 than 5 but, in my opinion, an easier drive and not that much slower. 101 is a much prettier and cooler drive than 5 in Northern California.
