Unbelievable.. no change in "performace; so removed the fridge to save on the "service charge".. well, there it was, this little wire in the flu, on the end of the wire was a mini auger aka a flue cleaner.. ran it up and down a few times, cleaned up the crud that fell to the bottom then pluged the fridge in just sitting in the garage.. 1 hour later.. the freezer is cold; I'm going to leave 'er set but I'm afraid it's "just fine". Do the new ones have a flu cleaner?... The simplist of things, why doesn't the manual EVER mention that flu clear; I don't know, maybe it's an aftermarket thing or a homemade item; none the lesss, freezer is cold just sitting in the garage. FYI: against my better judgement, I tested the fridge w/ a 30 pack of liquer store cool beer

That's not a "cleaner", but a heat distributor. Since it's out, find a flue brush if you have an RV or mobile home supply store handy. Or grab your 12ga. cleaning rod and swab her out.

SCVJeff... how does that heat distributor work? Like I said, it just looks like a coat hangar w/ about a 4-6" auger on the end of it. Is it made to just create a vortex so the heat rises faster? She's all cleaned out, infact, I cleaned everything, burner, igniter, etc... been running like a champ, well, at least in the garage, hahahha, froze ice lastnight. Still have the problem of "chasing" the temperature since it's on a dial an not a an electronic thermostat but none the less, it's cold.

norcold 982 was not doing too well so i cleaned out and brushed burner tube and found tube eroded and burnt. so ordered new one from dealer but he supplied smaller BTU orface unknowned to us. but per formance was not good temp in frig got up to 55F and thats not good. did some research and downloaded manual and found that i needed the higher BTU burner. got dealer to exchange.
now after 15 hours on propane this morning was 38 F in frig. and at 3pm was 43 F which is acceptable because was 95F outdoors.
so be advised on which burner you get.
i just checked and was 38F and opened the frig to check and now temp is 44F but not a lot of stuff to hold cold in frig so ibeleave its operating ok now.
