For a good meal you can ride over to the golf course Bay Creek, you can see it from Cherrystone, the bright color buildings. The courses are designed by Jack Nicholas & Arnold Palmer. This is one of my favorite places to be.

Thanks for the great suggestions. The kids will have to get over the fact that there aren't going to be boogie boarding waves except for the day we go to VA Beach. Any ideas on where to buy a clam rake? That's my husbands big concern right now!

They have a great bait and tackle shop right in the CG. You can also rent a boat if that is your pleasure. Crabbing should be good by then also.

Make sure you take some "beach" shoes. You cannot walk in that water without them.

You could go to Kiptopeke State park where they have a beach or to Chincoteague and go to Assateague National Wildlife refuge where they have some very nice beaches and miles of paved bike trails where the ponies come right up to you. While in Chincoteague,go to Mr Whippys' or the Creamery for the best ice cream treats. They are both closer than Virginia Beach.
