On your heater, check to see that the spark ignitor is actually sparking when it is trying to light; you should be able to hear "clicking" and, maybe, see the spark. If it is not sparking, it could be that the element is bad, or the circuit board is bad, or that the element is out of position and not close enough to metal to make the spark.

I had the same problem and I could see a spark. I very lightly sanded the ignitor and from that point on I have never had a problem. Sometimes if yor rig is exposed to moisture, (fog) it will get a coating on the ignitor and it will reduce the effiency of the spark.

Still can't get it to work.
I made ALL the suggestions above - bad thermocouple, check the circuit board.

The fridge works on propane also.........

just not the hot water heater......

oh well, back to the drawing board. We leave Friday on vacation,
and hopefully ALL the campgrounds don't lose power on us.........

We'll just have to get it fixed before our next drycamping trip!

same thing happen to us last day of camping. In our case it turned out to be as trolled 3193 stated. In my case i unplugged and then plugged connections back up. before doing this I shut off breaker for hot water heater.
