Has anyone on the forum obtained the recall kit from Dometric or their dealer and did the installation work their self?
The reason I ask is my unit is set up in a remote long term park over 400 miles from home and there are no dealers in that immediate area, plus I really do not want to have to move it.
Any information would be appreciated.
Thanks

Since the recall kit comes with paperwork that needs to be completed by a authorized Dometic Service Center, I doubt that you will be able to aquire the kit.
Your only other option is to remove the refer and take it to a repair center.

Not yet. I'm still waiting for Dometric to call me back. When I called them 2 1/2 months ago they told me someone would contact me in about two weeks.
I guess I need to call them back.

Why are you waiting for a call from Dometic?
You can go to the recall web-site and see if your unit is under the recall and if it is, just take it to an authorized service center for repairs. If you wait for a return call from Dometic, you will be waiting forever.

Pretty hard to believe that there is NOBODY in your area who sells or services Dometic since they're used in so MANY different brands of RV. I think I'd have a problem finding a dealer that DIDN'T handle Dometic. Good luck / Skip

Get on the Dometic site and go to the recall part, and put in your zip code. They will tell you who is the closest tech. It might not be a dealer...they sent me to a one man shop who makes house calls.

Went to "Camping World" and got my kit today (free). Been looking at the instructions and plan on getting started tomorrow. Make sure all parts are included (see parts list in instructions) because the first kit they gave me was missing over half of the parts. They said if I have problems just drag the ole 5ver over there and they will finish it.

I stand corrected. I guess you can get the recall kit to install yourself. I am surprised!
