Just south of the little town of Iron Gate about 3-4 miles there are two narrow culverts about 200 yards apart. They are on a straightaway so you can see trucks coming. Just time it so you don't meet a big rig on them. There is ample room but it seems like they shrink when driving a RV.

The road is good all the way to Salem from there on out. Just rolling hills and very light traffic.

When you get to Lord Botetourt High School on the right move over to the right hand lane. You'll merge to meet I-81 in about two miles on the right. About 10 miles to the first Salem exit on the right.

One more thing to add, take exit 27 off I-64 to access US-220. This will avoid going through Clifton Forge. Also, the route can be a little tricky right off the interstate toward Roanoke so watch the signs. You will want south 220.
