1) my insurance would not cover me to tow someone else's rig
2) there are adapters and you can also just take off your plate with the triangle on it if you DO NOT WELD IT but screw it on with the bolts provided and make sure you have at least 8 bolts or more holding it
3) the things I do not like about my Superglide is that you can not hitch or unhitch when trailer is more than 18 degrees off center and some repair places won't take it in because they do not have the adapter or a machine to pull it around.
4) what I love about the Pullrite Superglide is EVERYTHING ELSE!
Great hitch for a short box truck, easy to hook up too.

Two pins and the head pulls off at any angle. I have always been able to get straight enough to rehitch. However the hitch head could be pulled off and dropped into the saddle if needed. A little tricky to line up but very possible to hitch/unhitch at up to 90 degrees angle IMO.

In 5 years I've never had the need to move anybody's trailer. I would always be glad to help. However; due to losing a rear window out ot the TV, I made the decision to go with the SG. I've had manual sliders, and didn't really like them. This SG is a great hitch, but was bought for safety more then anything.

Well you guys made your point and I concur also added bonus if someone asks me to move their rig I'll have to say "I can't because your rig doesn't have the capture plate, sorry"
Ordered SG today now I wait.

Did just as smkettner described on the last boondock trip -not because of angle between truck and trailer but uneven ground. Even used this feature to recouple on the uneven ground - pin latch wouldn't close completely due to the pin vertical angle -just pull pins lift trailer to remove tension -bang the lock engages drop the trailer/hitch head back into the saddle....Just got to be flexible and think it out -this hitch gives you great freedom for maneuvering without stress and will uncouple in difficult situations unlike many other short bed application hitches.

Never worry that I can't tow other trailers ... kinda glad that I can't ... and my capture plate comes off in about 1 minute with one bolt, so no issue about others towing mine for service, etc... I have used the head removal with two pin capability once to unhook at an angle of about 45 degrees and it was a snap to do.

The Superglide hitch is heavy ... too heavy for one person to remove/replace by themselves IMO ... even when you take it out in pieces, the main hitch is still more than 1 person can handle safely.

I installed a cheap electric hoist in my garage over my TV parking spot, and it makes that chore really easy ...

To all those that have PullRite's SuperGlide, do you feel because your limited to pulling your own trailer and can't pull anyone else's that it came to decision factor. What I'm trying to say have you ever had to say no to somebody about moving or pulling their fiver?

Looking for input.

Thanks

Not a Problem. After installing Slide Stop Adaptor I'm able to pull most anyones 5er. Since this adaptor stops the auto slide function when installed "CAUTION" must be used to avoid jacknifing 5er into back of TV cab.

I was hoping C.B. would come along and add his pictures. With that adapter he made, the superglide is like any other 5th wheel hitch.
Maybe not up to Pullrites specs, but it will sure work in a pinch.
Nice job C.B.

When I need to remove my hitch, I leave it hooked to the trailer and use the front elevators pick it up off the truck bed. Then I lower it onto a home made table that is the same height as the tv bed. The table was made with wheels, so I can just roll the whole hitch into my garage. When re-installing, just reverse the process. Never been a problem.
