I need to get a generator for my popup. I'm mostly interested in recharging the battery and maybe running a few small appliances (the biggest would be a small tv/dvd). I'd like it to be quiet and not too heavy. Any recommendations?

I've heard the Honda's great, but I just have a hard time spending that much. Do people like the Champion generators? Am I Ok with a 1500 W model?

You get what you pay for. In noise and in quality of the 120 volts it turns out.

A 2,000 watt generator, that really produces 2,000 watts, would more than likely solve your problems for years and years.

As to source, my choice is Mayberry in New Jersey, a family-run company with great prices and great customer service.

My Honda e2000i from them is now several years old and has never missed a beat nor failed to start when called on and has electronically controlled output that modern electronic devices need.

Look on Craigslist for a used Honda 1000 watt. It fits all of your desires and it is reasonable.

Get the Honda. 1000 is plenty unless you want to run the microwave then the 2000.

Forget the "Cheap" ones, get a Honda, 1000, or 2000 you will not regret it. ( The small Yamaha's are good also, just not as many around)

I owned several generators before purchasing my Honda EU2000I. I just wish I had bought it years ago. Wise sales has them for $860 free shipping and no tax.

These days with the cost of fuel going up, it will pay for itself in the long run as it is extremely fuel efficient. A constant speed generator like the Champion cannot compare in that respect.

No comparison in noise level either.

Oh yes, The Honda is much lighter also. (less than 50lbs)
