If you have the round dish sat 101 from DirecTV looking at only one satellites signal the tripod is a quick and easy answer. The aiming of the dish is quite simple, only one satellite to worry about.

The rest of the dish antennas for either Dish Network or DirecTV become harder to aim. If the mast is not plumbed; the skew or tilt is not correct; or because of falls or storing the antenna it get warped; any of these can make it much harder to get a good signal. This includes Dish networks Dish 500 looking at two satellites to DirecTV’s HD SlimLine looking at five satellites.
snip.

I believe that my single LNB Dish 300 dish is just as easy to set for 119 as your direct is for 101. the only difference is a lower angle.

Sorry, I sometimes forget about the Dish 300. I should have said that any single satellite dish is easy to setup, not having to worry with the skew and how plumb the mast.

Except that w/ Direct, you can't get a wrong satellite if you wanted to. And the signal meter is much quicker reacting, and louder,...much easier to peak signal.

IMO, a tripod single LNB dish is much quicker to aim than Dish

my DIsh is a single LNB on a tripod. I don't understand your point. the volume depends on volume set on your TV which can blast across the campground. how much "quicker" are you talking about, 2 milliseconds?
