WOW! Two weeks will set you back around $800 plus.
At Lake George Escape
If you wanted Lake George RV Park and you don't already have reservations then you may be to late to get a spot.

I am sorry, did I allude that I was going to Lake George escape??? I am going to go to Lake george RV PARK - It is expensive at about $900 for 14 nights, I feel that the expense should be worth it, seeing that they have live entertainment everyday and we really don't leave the camping park much, we hope that Lake George RV park will entertain our kids for two weeks, seeing that they have 4-5 pools, hiking and biking trails, fishing, paddle boats, playset etc.
If you think about it, 8 hours at Great escape would be about $100 for the family.
I don't mind paying a bit more for a nice place for the kids.
I already have resevations, I made them last january, I just wanted to know if I show up, is it possible to convince them into getting a nicer site.
Feel free to PM me if you have any suggestions on what to do/say to the check in person to get a nicer site.
Thanks

kskuches wrote: Free is Prospect Mountain - nice hiking area. Beautiful views of the lake.
Free? When I was there a few weeks ago, it was $5 or $7 a carload to drive almost up to the top (don't remember the exact amount.) The last little bit to the summit was either a shuttle bus at extra cost (don't know how much) or hoof it up the steep hiking trail (which is what I did.)
Not free, but worth the cost in my mind.

Ooops. Yes, my husband reminded me right after I sent that - that was about 12 years ago, so as you can see it's like early onset Alzheimer's - or 2 wonderful kids making me lose my mind Thanks for the correction!

46 or 16 are nice. The inner loop is shadier and the outerloop sites are a hair bigger, if you go by 16-33 there is a big field across from you. Log Jam is excellent for dinner. GO EARLY

Plenty to do at this campground. They usually will not give you a specific site, however, they will put you in a specific area if you request. As previously stated, you can tell them you prefer a shaded site, or sunny site, etc.
Fireworks are in the Village of Lake George. It's usually been free, but who knows now!!!! Parking can sometimes be difficult in the Village but there are a few parking lots and side street parking.
Nice place to eat is on the eastside of the lake " East Cove Restaurant". As you come into the village take first right, which takes you to the boats, keep taveling that road. As you reach the top of the crest right in front of you, will be the East Cove Restaurant.
