I have a 13.5 k a/c unit. The unit will start but not blow any air. I went up and removed the cover and the fan is froze up. Where is the best place to buy a new fan motor. Or are they rebuildable. The coach is just over 3 y/o and has very little use.
Thanks

ck with www.grainger. They have a large supply of motors and think they will sell retail. If not ck with many of A/C supply houses. some will not sell retail.

good luck

Grainger's motors will not fit the mounts in a RV air-conditioner. The motors I sell at Johnstone Supply won't either.
You need to get the OEM motor. Try AAA-Appliance out of Sacramento.
I have been using them for about 30 years. They will need the model number.

These fan motors will tend to lock up with non-use. The occasionally happens to me. When it does, I simply reach upinside (from the inside of the camper) and rotate the fan from the inside. Once you free it, then just turn on the switch and it will begin to rotate and work fine.

The motor is a dual-shaft. At one end of the shaft is the fan-blade that blows air over the condensor coil and at the other end is a squirel-cage or fan-blade that blows air across the evaporator coil and down into the RV.

This is correct.. the shaft goes clear thru the motor with a fan on both ends.. if you can't turn the motor, make sure nothing is blocking either fan blade... if you free it up, it may run for 1 day to 10 years.

Thanks everyone for your help. I took the cover off from the inside and I was afraid I was going to break the plastic squirrel cage. So back up on the roof I went. The motor was frozen solid. Pliers wouldn’t break it loose but a good pair of vise grips did the job. After some working back and fourth it turned smooth and blows cold.
Thanks again for your help!

I had the exact same problem. I hadn't used it in about a year. The large channel lock plyers would not break it free so I ended up removing the motor. I let oil sink down into the shaft over night and it broke free in a vice. If I would have known, I would have used vice scripts and maybe saved a ton of time. I was afraid of bending something so that is why I removed it. Oh well it works great now
