I am camping at the Great Sand Dunes NP in my 2004 Wilderness TT and my interior lights will not stay on. I thought the entire camp had lost power as my electricity went out. My batteries did not kick on but the monitor says we are fully charged.

Unplugging from the 30 amp did not help the only thing that seems to be working is the light in the refriderator and the clock on the microwave.

Could it be that I need a new ac/dc converter? If so should a rv repair shop have these in stock and how hard are they to replace?

You have a blown 12 volt fuse. Look for one in the battery compartment. Probably 30 amps.

What is the make and model of your converter? I'm guessing it's a Parallax 6300 but I thought 2003 was the last year they used them although a few might have went into the 2004s.

What does it mean the batteries are supposed to "kick on?" Is there an automatic switch?

How can the microwave clock work after you have disconnected the 30amp shorepower? Is there an inverter in this set up? If so is the inverter circuit breaker for the light circuit re-set?

What does it mean that the lights will not "stay on?" On plugging in shore power do they work and then go out after? While on shore power do you get the lights going again (how--reset a breaker?) after they go out and then they go out again?

It was my converter that went out. None of the fuses or breakers had blown. After having it replaced everything was back to normal.

I am surprised the battery monitor said fully charged and the 12 volt lights and stuff did not work. You might want to unplug now that you have a new converter that should charge the battery and see that the battery is actually functioning.
